I would say being accepted back into the Paramedic program and working on a Critical Care Transport truck as well as being a member of my agency's Disaster Response Team/FEMA DRT.

To me, I have always desired to make a difference in the world with my own two hands and being a first responder has definitely given me that opportunity. Even more so is the enjoyment of working Critical Care/Specialty Care and being a part of a highly skilled care team that can handle ICU to ICU transports of acutely sick/injured patients of all ages. We have transported children just a few years old and people over 100 years old. Being able to see the differences we can make in the lives of these people gives me energy and purpose and keeps me coming back for me regardless of how hard the last day or last week was. I WANT to do this job. I WANT to CONTINUE to serve and protect those around me to the best of my ability because I have been on the other side of the equation and know how much difference it makes to have someone who brings you comfort and care in the moments where it feels like the world is coming apart at the seams.

Says the anon who A) likely has never spoken to me outside of this single instance, B) never been a patient of mine, C) has no idea what my actual skill set is, D) is a bit of a jealous bitch cause clearly you're sitting here spending time out of your day to come up with this kind of baseless claim, E) has no idea what the tasks of an EMT or Paramedic even are, F) has never actually served in emergency response or performed the tasks of a first responder in a 9-1-1 system and has no understanding of what that actually entails, G) obviously doesn't recognize the skillset required of Sanitation Engineers, heavy machinery operators (ie truck drivers) etc. because driving/operating large vehicles in the tens of thousands of pounds actually requires specialized training etc...

All patients are either Jane or John Doe for the purposes of ask.fm, and none of these calls will have been recent nor will the include any specific vitals or medical history.

I think one of my more memorable calls was for a Decreased Level-of-consciousness ( decreased LOC) call dispatched out as an ALS-1 call (ALS meaning advanced life support/paramedic) so it was deemed to need at least 1 medic on the call.

It was the wee hours of the morning and our ambo was dispatched along with another station's paramedic engine. Turns out the pt had already been seen by the medic on the engine for chest pain earlier. The pt's partner called it in and states the pt has been drinking. The pt had been transported to the nearest designated cardiac center for a possible MI ( myocardial infarction aka heart attack) so they shouldnt have been out here in the first place EKG came back wonky and medic decided this guys gotta go back to the cardiac center ( HSG) and he wigs out. Tears off his shirt. Threatens the engine crew and medic. The OIC (officer in charge) on the engine gave the evac order and we pulled back to the safety of our vehicles. County PD we called in to deal with pt.
b/c the pt was experiencing a cardiac event we legally cannot leave. pd convinced pt to get in the ambo and the medic comes with us. Pt begins to ask us to call Them "nate dog" and claimed they had spent time in a federal prison for manslaughter we had gotten approval to take the pt to the next cardiac center (not HSG) since he claimed to have been kicked out of HGS and didnt want to go back there. Upon arrival pt caused a scene, triage nurse yelled at pt. Pt AMA'd (against medical advice) himself out of the hospital and left before we finished the paper work.

So I would like keep it in the community, I mean I'll choose peoples from ask.
Where I'm going, well I say a road trip in Australia, want visit mainly the nature of it and for sure visit the urban areas too.
I would like take everybody with me, from my followers to peoples who I follow, you're all amazing!
In the other hand I must choose 3 peoples, so first person I choose is @LAKocis cuse he seem a really nice and funny guy, the fact he born in Australia could come at hand and plus he's a police officer/detective, with him around I'm sure it's could bring a feeling of security.
The second person is @ErinWolf4919 he seem too a funny guy and have such a kind heart, it's could be really chill have him around, plus he's a paramedic and if something goes wrong it's helpful have him around.
The third person I choose is @DaisiesInMay she seem a nice girl and easy going, I believe she could bring positive vibes around, plus she has knowledge about plants and flower something who in the middle of the nature, it's surely helpful.
What I would take with me, actually a kit of first aid, prevention is always helpfu.
