🌸 What are 5 little facts about yourself that you'd like to share? Maybe things you'd like people to know! :)

kittiemeowsie’s Profile PhotoKittie Meow.
1 I'm a professional artist, my website is shehitsback.com
2 I have three cats and a lovebird
3 I live in Washington State and I love it here
4 I have schizophrenia, but I keep it managed with meds
5 I'm married and uninterested in you, men of ask fm

They use the word "insight" to describe a person's ability to look at their behaviour from an outside perspective. For instance, they say people with schizophrenia lack insight because they can't see that their delusions aren't real. Have you ever heard the word 'insight' used like that?

People who actually have schizophrenia can feel free to correct me if i'm wrong but I don't think thats true....Pretty sure at least some of them are capable of being self aware of it.

Are you immunocompromised?

no, my immune system is fine, but inexplicably people with schizophrenia are a little more likely to have serious complications or death from covid. I don't remember the percentage but it was high, like 30%.

وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيراً مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْأِنْسِ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ لا يَفْقَهُونَ بِهَا.{لأعراف: 179}
أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَتَكُونَ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ يَعْقِلُونَ بِهَا أَوْ آذَانٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا فَإِنَّهَا لا تَعْمَى الْأَبْصَارُ وَلَكِنْ تَعْمَى الْقُلُوبُ الَّتِي فِي الصُّدُورِ. {الحج:46}

I wasnt able to get a lawyer to take my case before, I have had a very hard time getting in to see any specialists since covid. Im actually not even able to see a rheumatologist until october despite a positive ana. We are going mostly for mental illness as I was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar last year and consistently see several doctors for that

Could you date someone with bipolar/ adhd / and schizophrenia ?

considering i'm mentally ill too, i'd probably be better equipped to understand their symptoms compared to a neurotypical person. so yeah, someone's diagnoses wouldn't deter me from dating them.

What do you do when someone accuses you of something over and over again, but you know you didn't do it?

It depends upon who that "someone" is and what that "something" is. What I have learned through the years is that there are two sides to every story and the truth is often located in between. Assuming that your version of reality is 100% accurate, I would suggest that your accuser is mistaken and then the logical question would be why? Why would someone be compelled to distort the truth? What is their motivation? The other aspect you should consider is who the accuser is and what their relationship to you is: parent, sibling, neighbor, friend, etc. And finally, what is the "something" they are accusing you of? For example, are they accusing you of not locking the door, or not emptying the trash or is it something more significant like stealing money or perhaps having sex when they believe you are too young? There are so many possibilities that it is impossible for me to give you a proper response without knowing the specifics.
I will say this, assuming that what you have stated it precise, then the accuser is being dishonest and perhaps even hateful. In my own personal life I ignore and excommunicate people who are dishonest and hateful. Please note that I am able to effectively shut people down in this manner because I own my own home and I am not financially or emotionally dependent upon anyone to survive. For many people, especially young people, the disabled or the elderly, this is not the case. If I were a minor and dependent upon my parents, or if I were disabled and dependent upon a care giver, I might be forced to deal with my accuser in a more practical and conciliatory manner if they are indeed responsible for making the false allegations.
One final thought, have you considered the possibility that your accuser suffers from an emotional problem or perhaps some form of mental illness like bipolar or psychosis or schizophrenia or psychopathy? Unfortunately, I have experienced people who suffer from all of these conditions and one of the predominant characteristics they share is to create chaos and conflict by making outrageous and irrational claims/outbursts which can include false accusations or worse. Why? Because they either have a distorted perception of reality or they are attempting to manipulate you for some purpose whether it be to get something tangible or even attain power and dominance over you to satisfy some internal need that they have to control other people and the environment they live in.
I hope this helps.
p.s. If possible, you want to stay away for these type of people and remove them from your life if possible. If that is not possible, then you need to set personal boundaries and ignore their irrational behavior as best you are able to. In a perfect world, nobody should ever experience false allegations, but we do not live in a perfect world and unfortunately, false allegations are commonly used to seek revenge, to gain attention or to manipulate and control.

Kenapa ya aku susah percaya sama org?

nisahanaya’s Profile PhotoNurul Nisahana
Hi Nurul, yuk pahami kenapa kamu punya trust issue. Biasa penyebabnya karena depression, Adjustment disorders (difficulty dealing with certain stresses), Anxiety, Fear of abandonment, Attachment issues, Post-traumatic stress, atau Schizophrenia.

You must be really delusional if you think someone cares about your wedding, tbh. Delusion is a common symptom for schizophrenia, are you sure you're getting the right treatment for it?

LMAO literally everyone I tagged aside from 3 people (because of them being overseas) is at the very least being invited to my wedding, one of them is literally in it lmao.
The fact that you think anything you're saying makes me look bad...is hilarious..in reality you're on Anonymous because you know this makes YOU look disgusting. So please keep going, because I am having the greatest laugh right now @allinbloom @NineGDxFour @lucidxxdreams @ar9495

where can i get this schizophrenia thing? sounds pretty dope

I mean, I can't work, I can't drive, I've ruined dozens of friendships, I see things that aren't there, and I spent a solid 5 years convinced the fbi was trying to capture me for testing but whatever

But then accidentally today I said something and my sister pointed out I may have schizophrenia it just irritated me. I dont have answers to my questions so maybe I'm delusional but the thing is how will it go away?

Lastly, please know that there's nothing actually "wrong" with you.
If you can afford therapy then you should go. Everyone should go for therapy cuz it helps a lot with life. But even if you don't, your problem is easily manageable.
I wouldn't even say its a "problem" tbh.
We all have some level of paranoia in us. Some events in our life can trigger it a little more and cause it to stay for a longer time, that's it. Getting it back to its original level is not easy.
We know for a fact the world doesn't have that much time or energy to always be targeting us or thinking negatively about us/observing us / judging us etc. This is the truth but our brains have gone into that constant paranoid state so we just have to train it to stop thinking that way. That's all! And tbh, it's not that tough if you consistently try to train your brain.
Good luck!

So I follow a man on tiktok who has schizophrenia, he uses TikTok videos, pictures etc to see if he is hallucinating. Well here lately there has been a lot of people making things up to scare him (ie. Omg what's that behind you) Why do you think these people act this way?

reachel_n’s Profile PhotoReachel♥️
I guarantee you that wouldn't have the balls or the nerve to say these things to the guy IRL. They sound like they are trolls who think they are edgy and don't fully understand the severity or gravity of schizophrenia. Not trying to sound like a snowflake here but it's true. There's an element of sadism thrown into the mix and likely it's an attempt to have some kind of power over this guy in question or to just fuck around. Either way, it's uncalled for.

how were you in your mid 20s?

completely out of my mind with schizophrenia. I was regularly hallucinating ghosts in my apartment who touched my skin and sapped my energy away. I saw blood in the water. I had a conspiracy theory involving the illumanati and my landlady.
but like, I held down a nice job as a target assistant manager and a new marriage and I taught myself how to knit

Men’s Mental Health awareness:

There are 151,781,326 Million men in the U.S of these 6 million suffer from mental illness. Five major mental health illnesses seen in men are depression, anxiety, bipolar depression, psychosis and schizophrenia.
Suicide is the highest in males over 85 and was the 7th leading cause (2.2%) of all male deaths in 2011. Gay males are at an increased risk of attempts especially before the age of 25. Four times as many men as women die by suicide. In 2010 there were 38,364 and over ¾ or 79% of males died by suicide.
1 in 5 men suffer from alcohol dependance, homosexual men have higher rates of substance use than heterosexual men and male veterans experience twice as much substance use as women.
One possible cause of depression, stress and moods wings in males is low testosterone. Studies show that testosterone levels begin to drop around the age of 30 in men. Getting your check ups can help determine if this could be the cause of some of your mental health symptoms.
Men are less likely to seek mental health treatment because of social norms, reluctance to talk and downplaying symptoms. It is important that men seek mental health treatment when needed you are not weak it is okay to ask for help that is a sign of strength. Men carry a lot of pressure on them caring for the family worrying about bills their careers etc. Having someone to talk to can go a long way to help your mental health as well as physical health.

I suffer from ocd and panic attacks. I need a friend and I think you should be able to be my friend. Would you like to know me? I'm William

You don't get to tell people to be friends with you. I have ZERO interest in a friendship with you. Using your mental illness as an indicator that I should accept you is incredibly gross. I don't go around saying "I have schizophrenia, do what I want" it's childish and nasty.

How common are mental illnesses?

Mental illnesses are among the most common health conditions in the United States.
More than 50% will be diagnosed with a mental illness or disorder at some point in their lifetime.3
1 in 5 Americans will experience a mental illness in a given year.4
1 in 5 children, either currently or at some point during their life, have had a seriously debilitating mental illness.5
1 in 25 Americans lives with a serious mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression.6

What if the person you want to spend your life with has not told you that they have a mental disorder? They're taking medication and say it's not a problem. I'm not in a good mental state myself, so I guess that makes us even. Would you feel betrayed?

I have schizophrenia. Among other less serious things. There's NOTHING wrong with being responsible and medicated. There was no betrayal. Don't be ableist.

Head trauma
Grandiosity😂

Do you think calling a person autistic, psychotic, schizophrenic etc. is more hurtful than referring to them as "a person with autism, psychosis, schizophrenia (or other similar conditions)"? Why?

When it comes to online forums, image boards and social media sites, no - while it may be offensive, there is too much trolling and satire to be taken seriously. In some of the darkest corners of the internet, "autism" or "weaponized autism" is a badge of honor. Unironically. In a serious or clinical setting, yes, it would be more appropriate / professional to refer to them as "people with," "those suffering from" or something similar. On 4chan, I make no apologies for being Captain Autismo - but in the real world, I am a sensible individual who does not ignore serious psychiatric conditions, their debilitating effects or the medical field which is grappling to comprehend, diagnose and treat them. I believe that it's important to recognize context and it mustn't be ignored when it comes to any appreciable matter.

I think context matters as in some situations I think it could be more/less worse than others but all in all I do think it can definitely be hurtful.
When you’re a person with a condition, it’s recognizing that you as an individual have that but you are still you, it’s just a part of you.
When someone just is something, I think it’s easy for people to see that as them as a whole. It stops being a part of them and people just see it as their identity all together like they’re a walking condition, and I think for a lot of people suffering that is probably very hurtful because they feel like all anyone sees is an illness.

Do you think calling a person autistic, psychotic, schizophrenic etc. is more hurtful than referring to them as "a person with autism, psychosis, schizophrenia (or other similar conditions)"? Why?

Hmm usually instead of labeling people, I would rather just be patient and see how an individual prefers to be addressed. Everyone is different and they have the right to be addressed as how they like. No right or wrong :)

Do you think calling a person autistic, psychotic, schizophrenic etc. is more hurtful than referring to them as "a person with autism, psychosis, schizophrenia (or other similar conditions)"? Why?

No, I’ve never felt that.
I’m disabled, and a diabetic, and I’ve never really got the movement that claims people with disabilities are not to be called disabled people.
It makes as much sense as saying people with diabetes shouldn’t be referred to as diabetics.
I understand the semantics behind saying “that lift (elevator) is for disabled people, it’s not a disabled lift as it’s working fine!” but it seems to me such a tiny argument to be fighting, when there are so many serious issues people face that need to be resolved.
