It was Bathory's Under the Sign of THE BLACK MARK (not Evil by Sodom!).
I listened to thrash metal records released in 1987 of which my uncle has had almost a full collection: you could find there everything from Slayer, Bulldozer to the mentioned Bathory which changed my taste then!
With thrash metal, I listened to some death metal record that were obtainable at my age, I remember buying some official anthology by Obituary which I loved, also Domination & The Gates to Annihilation by Morbid Angel, I sported a lot of Krabathor, especially Cool Mortification CD that I bought in CD shop for lowered price when I was not older than 11 years old (everything included in this answer is from the time when I was between 9 or 10 years old to when I was freshly 12 years old, I remember this very safely because in summer of 2000 after my 12th birthday I got seriously into the tape of Bathory's Under the Sign which was my turning point in music taste overall). That was cool a fucking lot for me that time.
And before this, I had listened to hard rock (especially Deep Purple, AC/DC, Black Sabbath and Rainbow and such) & heavy metal obviously (Iron Maiden's CD The Number of the Beast was my first bought CD ever if not counting some of the worse Kiss releases that were the starting point of it all tho; of heavy metal I really enjoyed the most a doubleCD, I think, official compilation of Judas Priest, that was my big love for some time, but basically I knew all the NWOBHM stuff).
Oh, and I remember a big events when I bought some Sepultura thrash metal-era tapes (Arise especially), Slayer's Into the Abyss which was a surprise for me for its slower mid-tempo I so fell in love with. Then I remember, for example, another serious deal to me when getting VHS of taped live Vader, some official Cannibal Corpse VHS and one of the official Sepultura VHS. Also, King Diamond was among my full-time loves as well as Mercyful Fate. It's a long story but basically the point is that internet was not a thing then and I could get to only limited list of releases.
It was my later childhood's biggest joy to buy tapes and one CD per year when I had saved money for a long time before! Totally different attitude towards getting music, I am the generation born in then still a totalitary communist state (until the fall of communism in late November from 1989 to January 1990), I was born May 1988, and thus the difference of the attitude of getting into metal releases is almost unexplainable to a generation born for example JUST FUCKING 4 YEARS LATER & AFTERWARDS. Strange, isn't it? The main difference was from the biggest piece, of course, from the Internet access. But there was something else yet that is hard to tell if you are born AFTER 1988 & grewing up in post-communist Middle-Eastern/Eastern Europe. Those into metal who were born before 1988 or the same year as me woul exactly know what I mean. Maybe I'm too lazy to explain it more -- on the other side, who cares? Shit happened.

"el rollo otaku ya paso de moda"

Esta es la historia de una niña pequeña que, con tan solo 5 añitos, vio su primera seria anime "digimon", con 6 y 7 se vio toda la saga de "dragon ball", con 8 se vio "sakura" , "slayers", "hunter x hunter", con 9 se vio "yuyuhakusho", con 12 se vio "elfen lied"... y asi sucesivamnte. Esta niña con 10 añitos fue a su primer salon del manga que se realizo en el centro comercial de los prados en Oviedo, empezo a soñar con irse a japon a los 8 años, cuando comenzo a dorar la cultura asiatica, con 11 descubrio el k-pop, con 14 empezo a hacer cover dance... Durante toda su adolescencia esta niña fue a todos los eventos que se celebraron en Asturias, en sus 20 años se ha visto series que casi nadie conoce... Esta chica a sufrido acoso escolar por parte de sus compañeros por leer mangas en clase, por ver anime se reia de ella. Esa niña era yo.
Yo vivi la epoca donde ser otaku era algo raro, donde la gente se metia contigo por escuchar "chicos", donde se reian de ti por querer estudiar japones, donde si ibas con algo de pokemon las risas estaban aseguradas...
Por mala suerte ser otaku se convirtio en una puta moda, de repente todo lo que me hacia ser una "rarita" se convirtio en algo por lo que la gente me idolatraba, veia gente en los salones que se consideraba otaku por ver pokemon (conocer a pikachu no implica que te guste pokemon) o por jugar al lol... y eso me mataba por dentro. pero por fin eso ha pasado.

Ser otaku no es una moda, es una forma de vida, es como te gusta ser... asi que no vengas a mi ask a decirme que YO lo hago por moda, yo soy otaku desde antes de que la palabra llegara a españa.
