Un fallimento quasi annunciato. È appena terminata – alle ore 23:30 del fuso orario di New York, 5:30 di quello di Roma- senza nessun documento finale, come nel 2010 e nel 2015, la Conferenza di revisione (RevCon) del Trattato di non proliferazione delle armi nucleari, che si tiene ogni cinque anni (NPT sigla in inglese, TNP in italiano). Stavolta l’esito negativo dell’incontro è caratterizzato non dalla questione mediorientale, al centro delle RevCon del 2010 e del 2015 ma da due fattori nuovi.
Il primo è quello all’origine del blocco ufficiale da parte della Russia del progetto di 35 pagine preparato dalla presidenza argentina, cioè la guerra in Ucraina e la tendenza degli Stati occidentali a mettere Putin sul banco degli imputati per l’aggressione a uno Stato sovrano.
Il secondo, su cui ci soffermeremo maggiormente, è lo scontro tra potenze nucleari (NWS) e Stati non nucleari (NNWS), questi ultimi per lo più aggregati nel “percorso umanitario”, sorretto dalla società civile internazionale organizzata nella rete ICAN (Campagna internazionale per l’abolizione delle armi nucleari).
Cosa fare adesso adesso di fronte al fallimento sostanziale della Conferenza? Noi, tra i membri italiani di ICAN, riteniamo che in ICAN internazionale sia necessaria una maturazione strategica della quale, nonostante tutto, degli elementi sono stati comunque anticipati a New York. Si impongono all’organizzazione delle domande di fronte ai bivi che si sono aperti per l’iniziativa politica.
Ecco l’idea che circola tra gli Stati non nucleari più combattivi e la questione che, come antinucleari italiani, poniamo sul tappeto della riflessione collettiva del movimento. In virtù dei solenni impegni presi a New York possiamo chiederci e chiedere cosa aspettano i 145 Stati che hanno sottoscritto la dichiarazione del Costarica (o almeno i 66 della Dichiarazione di Vienna) a fare un discorso chiaro alle potenze nucleari?
“Cari P5, mettetevi d’accordo subito sul No first use. E questo deve significare la deallertizzazione immediata delle testate. Creare in questo e in qualche modo le condizioni tecniche per evitare almeno la guerra nucleare per errore significa anche che tutti i vostri piani di ammodernamento vanno bloccati. Non si deve spendere un solo centesimo per nuove armi nucleari e per l’inserimento della deterrenza in ambienti di intelligenza artificiale. O adottate subito queste decisioni e siete ad esse conseguenti oppure prendiamo atto che il monopolio legale delle armi nucleari che vi siete garantiti con il TNP è solo un grosso imbroglio. E noi non continueremo a tenere il sacco a questa violazione del diritto internazionale. O cominciate a porre rimedio o facciamo saltare il banco che si disvela gestito da bari. Per l’intanto vi annunciamo che sospendiamo la nostra adesione al TNP, nell’attesa che vi diate una smossa. Nel vostro stesso interesse, perché le prime vittime di una guerra nucleare sareste proprio voi”.

Das kann ich gerne machen Máire, allerdings auf Deutsch, weil ich mich dann besser ausdrücken kann. 😅 Natürlich hat Wien viel mehr zu bieten als ich beschrieben habe, aber die diesbezügliche Frage war ja eingegrenzt. 😂 Wien ist eine multikulti Stadt und es kommen jährlich unzählige Touristen (vor der Pandemie) um sich die Sehenswürdigkeiten anzusehen (Stephansdom, Schloss Schönbrunn, Staatsoper, Hofburg, etc.) und das Flair und den Charme, den die Stadt durchaus auch hat, zu genießen. Es gibt viele kleine Cafés in teilweise sehr originellem Stil, da die Wiener*innen leidenschaftliche Kaffeetrinker sind, aber auch jede Menge Restaurants wie zB „Das Schweizerhaus“, die schon Kult sind und wo man das bekannte „Wiener Schnitzel“ oder die berühmte „Sachertorte“ genießen kann. „CopaBeach” ein Sandstrand bei der Donauinsel bietet ein gewisses Urlaubsfeeling und wird gerne zum Entspannen genutzt. Für den Freizeitspaß gibt es zB den „Wiener Prater“ (Vergnügungspark) und das bekannte „Riesenrad“. Für die Weintrinker gibt es viele „Heurige“ wo man sich in gemütlicher Atmosphäre das eine oder andere Glas Wein gönnen kann. Aber auch das Wiener Nachtleben kommt nicht zu kurz und es kann in Bars, Clubs etc. ausgiebig gefeiert werden. Zu den Highlights von Wien gehören unter anderem die „Sky Bar“ mit einer tollen Aussicht auf den Stephansdom und der „Wiener Donauturm“ mit einem wunderschönen Ausblick über ganz Wien. Und überall dort kannst du auch charmante und humorvolle Wiener*innen treffen, die dir sicher gerne ein bisschen mehr über ihr geliebtes Wien erzählen. 😊

All of Emaline's life, she had always been close with her Mother. After all, Silene is all that Emaline has. With her father being dead, a heist gone wrong, it simply brought the two closer together. The youngest Oliveira has always looked up to her mother, for a lot of different reasons. Her mother was brave, in more ways than one. She inspired her.

In reality? A few months (if that), but, it felt like she had preparing for this Heist her whole life. Pulling herself out of her thoughts, Vienna just about caught Tokyo's response and a laugh slipped past her lips. ❛Born ready, of course you are.❜ She stated, the smirk turned into more of a playful grin, if anything. This is something that Vienna needed, one more night of pure fun before the storm. She was going to enjoy it, see where the night would take them both.

Upon hearing her words, she nodded her head. ❛Wilder and sexier? I'll take it.❜ The girl stated as she pulled the hairbands out of her hair. Pulling apart the strands, she allowed the slightly curled hair to fall into place. Moving certain pieces of hair in to the right place, Vienna turned to face Tokyo. ❛Let's go and have some fun. One last night, hey?❜ The girl asked. They needed the fun, it wasn't often that they could go out and let loose like this.

Ce ne sono tante, nel mondo, di città, che vorrei visitare. Anche restringendo il campo limite all'Europa, ne ho alcune che stanno lì come un chiodo fisso, costantemente.
Ho millantato parecchie volte il mio amore platonico – e per ora onirico – per la Provenza. Non è che ci sia moltissimo di cui parlare: è una cittadina che oltre ad essere rimasta ferma nel tempo, è viva di colori che si sfumano piacevolmente in base alla stagione; per non parlare dei suoi meravigliosi campi di lavanda e quei cottage che richiamano quiete e armonia. Assieme vorrei tanto poter vedere Versailles, e solo questa: ah! Impiegherei una sola giornata per ammirare angolo dopo angolo dei suoi giardini e un secondo giorno per la reggia, i suoi interni, i suoi dipinti… insomma, casa mia! Spostandomi ci sarebbe l'Austria. Aaah!! L'Austria, le sue biblioteche, le sue università, i suoi musei e sede principale del nostro amico Klimt : Vienna, dunque.
E non è finito. Vogliamo parlare dell'Olanda? Dei suoi campi di girasoli, e dei bellissimi e profumatissimi e coloratissimi tulipani? – troppo sottovalutati i tulipani. E questi, vanno a braccetto con il buon vecchio mangiatore di patate Vincent Van Gogh. L'Olanda sarebbe tutta da visitare, altro che singola città. E poi la mia amata Spagna, anch'essa tutta da visitare! Non c'è una regione o una città che salterei della Spagna. Ma anche l'Italia, eh. Firenze è un groppo in gola che ho da tanti anni. Così come Bronte per i suoi pistacchi – diciamo che un po' tutto il sud è un biglietto esaustivo di visita – e l'Emilia Romagna? Troppo sottovalutata come regione; Bologna è sede principale di monasteri e biblioteche; pullula una sapienza... e assieme il cibo, questo non può mai mancare nelle scelte di viaggio!
Perciò cara Red, ancora una volta, non so scegliere, ahimè!! Altro che domanda tranquilla *sigh*

I became a serious traveler about 6 years ago and came up with a list of all the cities I want to visit outside of the US, primarily based on my preference to sight-see man-made architecture over natural wonders and also based on my favorite cuisines. I started out by knocking out the most "famous" places first. Those being Paris, London, Dublin, Edinburgh, Tokyo, Beijing, Rome, Mexico, Venice, Madrid, Barcelona, Jerusalem, Berlin, Munich and Vienna. This year I'm going to Delhi and Bangkok. Other places on my list are Seoul, Vietnam, Istanbul, Greece, Amsterdam, Morocco, Egypt, Iceland. I always try to group places together that are in somewhat proximity to each other to maximize what I can see in typically a 2 week window of vacation time I take every year.
Prior interest - this is somewhat lower on the list, ironically, because I find I can generally get interested for destinations I'd never previously considered. For longer trips, this becomes more important. For shorter trips, it can actually be a hindrance - I'm currently planning a short trip to Japan and frustrated by how little time I'll have; retrospectively, I wish I'd saved it for a time when I could stay longer and do more, because it's been a bucket-list destination for so long. At this point, I'm already planning my next trip there. Similarly, many places where I've got a higher level of prior interest are ones that I've put on the back burner due to cost/safety/visa hassle/wanting to learn the language or having specific events I want to attend there (my schedule isn't especially flexible right now).
Usually it's based on trying to make sure that my husband and I are both getting to check things off our bucket lists. Last year and the year before, we chose the destination that was the most mutually appealing to us and then added other stops from there. This year, he let me plan the whole trip and choose the destinations, but based on criteria we had established together. Next year will be his dream trip to Japan, the year after that my dream trip to Italy. I wish we could sometimes choose based off of cheap flight deals, but his vacation time is not flexible enough for that.
I would look at the time I have available. If I only have 10 days including travel (a week off of work,) then I wouldn’t try to do anything not non-stop or further than about a 10 hour night flight. That takes out a large amount of places. Then I’d look at the season and remove the locations at the extreme temperate points for that season. Then I’d pick where I want to go from what’s left. I might try to do two spots with that amount of time. I don’t look too much at airfare because we use points for most of our flights.
Well I work with an airline, so most of the time it's hard to find people to go with me on trips. Usually travel by myself, although I prefer going with my dad when he's available. I just have the chance to travel to so many places for so cheap it becomes really hard to pick places.
