Mate, I love pop-punk as much as the next guy but I honestly feel like that label doesn't do Waterparks sound justice, idk it seems more "expansive" if you feel me?
100%. I never call us pop-punk, that's super limiting to think of it that way, especially when writing when I'm trying to think way outside the box.
Double Dare is really a fantastic album. Love your songwriting. Do you write lyrics first and then a melody or do they kind of come together?
Thank you ? it's really different for each one. Lyrics happen every day. And sometimes I just sing gibberish in my car and if it's cool I match the syllables and notes with lyrics I've already made and ta-da! Waterparks song.

I was stuck in traffic today for 2 hours after work and I listened to every Waterparks song and it's very apparent how much you have grown as a vocalist. I think it's so inspiring how much work you've put into the music and it's not just a hobby to you, it's a career. What keeps you going?

If you made a song that you don't feel is 100% waterparks would you still put it out (u know since music is always changing n evolving) or would you work on it more n try to turn it into the sound you want to be remembered for?
I'd put it out if it ruled. Also we're always changing. We always will. If you don't step it up and evolve with each release you're doomed to only be remembered for your first album and be stuck doing 10 Year Tours forever. Eek. No thanks.
