My personal favourite that’s fairly local to me is the Chanctonbury Ring, with it being known as one of the most haunted locations in
the South Downs.

Legend has it, that the Devil had a hand in the formation of Chanctonbury Ring. When he discovered that the inhabitants of Sussex were being converted from previous pagan religions to Christianity he decided to drown them, with Sussex being the last county in England to convert to Christianity. If they converted, then the Devil would lose more of his power over the country.

He began digging a trench down to the sea from Poynings, sending large quantities of earth in every direction, one of which became Chanctonbury (I believe that the Isle of Wight may have been another). However, he was not to complete his work. An old lady living nearby placed a sieve in front of a lighted candle on her window ledge, in turn disturbing a cockerel perched on a fence. The devil heard the cockerel and, looking over his shoulder, saw what he thought was the sun rising and so fled before completing his task. (There are multiple versions to the latter part of the tale, this is just the one I know).

It is also said, that you can raise the devil at Chanctonbury Ring by running around the clump of trees seven times in an anti-clockwise direction. When he appears, he will offer you a bowl of soup or even porridge, in exchange for your soul.

My favourite association with the legend is that the Ring has gained something of a reputation in connection with witchcraft, UFO’s, ghosts and strange forces - particularly during the 70s, with levitations and sighting happening. Then you have the connection with the occult and Aleister Crowley frequently visiting the Ring too :)

⠀⠀ Myślałam nad odpowiedzią na to pytanie dłuższą chwilkę, gdyż odpowiedź wcale nie wydaje się taka prosta, bo jak wiemy Thomasin jest jedynym żyjącym członkiem swojej rodziny. Aczkolwiek uważam, że wątki pozostałych członków nie zostały dobrze rozwinięte i pomimo przedstawienia nam członków rodziny dziewczyny, nie znamy tak naprawdę ich przeszłości, ani ich osobowości. Tak więc na pewno ucieszyłby mnie widok Caleba — młodszego brata, który pomimo okresu dojrzewania ma w sobie nadal dziecięcą ciekawość, która nie raz, nie dwa wpakowała Thomasin w kłopoty. Od kiedy obejrzałam film, zamarzyło mi się poznać rozwinięcie wątku matki — Katherine, dlatego tak bardzo nienawidzi pierworodnej, a może też, jakie relacje miały wcześniej. Kobieta wydaje się być niesamowicie skryta, bezduszna, uważam, że naprawdę ciekawie można by wykreować jej postać po swojemu. Z rodziny Thomasin chciałabym też zobaczyć Williama — ojca dziewczyny, który darzy ją na pewno większą sympatią niż matka, ale jednocześnie jest do niej zdystansowany. Kolejna postać, której potencjał nie został wykorzystany, a naprawdę jest tutaj dużo do rozwinięcia. Mile widziane są również postacie OC, może jakaś czarownica, która doznała uniesienia w końcowym kręgu, bądź jakaś poznana wcześniej? Możemy również stworzyć zupełnie nową historię jeśli tylko zainteresowana osoba wyrazi chęć, lata tysiącsześćsetne, witchcraft, sabaty, czarna magia to tak szeroko pojęta tematyka, że na pewno wspólnymi siłami wymyślimy wspaniałe historie.

My favorite fictional world is the Hogwarts.
What makes it so great for me is, the Witchcraft and Wizardry, magical students and a magical world, totally.
It was a state-owned school, funded by the Ministry of Magic.
A classic fantasy world indeed.
It is over a thousand years old and was founded by Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin, after whom the school's four houses are named.
The whole story gives goosebumps for me and when it ends I was so sad.
The 3 friends: Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, Hermione Granger; always there for each other.
Owls are perhaps the most visible motif of the Wizarding world. They act as the principal form of communication among wizards (somewhat like carrier pigeons) and also as pets. Harry Potter has a pet owl named Hedwig.
The Hogwarts Express: It departs from Platform 9¾ at King's Cross Station, London.
Hogwarts is divided into four separate houses, and they are Gryffindor (which favours courage), Ravenclaw, (which favours intellect), Hufflepuff, (which favours hard work and fair play) and Slytherin (which favours ambition). Upon arrival, Harry, along with his friends (Ron and later Hermione), are sorted into Gryffindor.
Quidditch: a spectator sport in the Wizard world, played up in the air on brooms.
Half-blood, pure blood, muggles.
Albus Dumbledore ❤️ Harry's most trusted advisor and Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and my favourite too. He is also said to be the only known person whom Lord Voldemort ever feared, and also one of the few who does not fear Voldemort and openly speaks his name, often calling him by his Christian name of Tom Riddle.
Severus Snape: A gifted wizard, Hogwarts staff member. After all this time, Always!!! 🥺
Hagrid: Son of a wizard and a giantess, he is both surprisingly gentle and nurturing. My most favourite 🌹
Sirius Black, Harry's godfather his death was painful 🥺
Draco Malfoy: A pure-blood supremacist and I hate him.

Ohh das stimmt voll! Das ist mega der Krimi und in meinem Kopf denke ich auch die ganze Zeit an OH, wenn ich das verfolge :D, weil das schon so bisschen zu meiner Storyline passt. Obwohl ich sagen muss, dass Wahlsystem viel simpler ist, als dass in den USA:

In OH ist das jetzt nicht so, dass es Wahlmänner gab früher die auf Drachen angeflogen gekommen sind haha :D, auch wenn ich die Vorstellung lustig finde, weil das so albern klingt :D. Naja bei OH war das in den letzten Wahljahren so (es wird alle 5 Jahre gewählt und nicht so wie in der No-Maj Welt alle 4 Jahre), dass es kaum eine vernünftige Partei gab. Es gab halt immer die Social Federation (seit 1793 gibt es diese Partei) und dann immer noch ein paar Parteien die so bisschen so "liberale Wirtschaftsparteien" waren, die aber nicht sonderlich groß waren und sich ständig zerstritten und dann wieder neu aufgebaut haben und dann irgendwann kam noch die Green Witchcraft Party dazu, die aber bei den letzten Wahlen nicht sonderlich ernst genommen wurden und die auch nie viele Stimmen bekommen haben. Aus diesem Grund hat sich die Partei auch einfach mit MOVE zusammengeschlossen. Eigentlich war in den letzten Wahljahren es auch immer so, dass relativ klar war, dass die Socials den*die Präsident*in stellen. Das Land war bisschen "poltikmüde" und besonders junge Leute wollten nicht so gerne wählen gehen, weil viele dachten, dass es keine Partei gibt, die so wirklich 100 % Interessen vertritt, die sie selber gut finden. Erst so in den letzten 5 Jahren wurde es interessanter, weil Feminist Movement entstand und junge Menschen plötzlich gecheckt haben : Jo, es gibt doch auch Politiker*innen, die sich für Dinge einsetzen wollen, die auch uns was angehen. Und dann gab es auch noch diese neue Bedrohung, quasi ein Trend, der aus Großbritannien übergeschwappt ist und die "Wizards First" Partei formte sich und machte überall Propaganda. Aus diesem Grund ist dieses Jahr die Wahl viel spannender und es werden wohl auch mehr Menschen wählen gehen. Es ist zwar so, dass es in jedem Staat in den USA mehrere Wahllokale gibt, aber keine Wahlmänner oder so :D. Das System haben sie nicht von den No-majs übernommen. Durch Magie geht der Auszählungsprozess auch viel einfacher. Außerdem ist die magische Bevölkerung auch kleiner und deshalb geht es auch bisschen und es geht alles schneller von statten. Und es geht bisschen wie bei einer direkten Demokratie. Eine Stimme zählt direkt für den*die Kandidat*in und dann wird das prozentual ausgerechnet. Und der*die Präsident*in darf am Ende halt die Regierung besetzen bzw. die Minister*innen auswählen und eigentlich muss auch auch noch immer Leute aus der Opposition geben, damit das alles bisschen kontrolliert wird und schön abgestimmt werden kann und kritisch hinterfragt wird, aber ob das am Ende klappt ist eine andere Sache, weil die Wizards First haben z.B. schon Bock auf eine "Alleinherrschaft". tbc.

Witchcraft is the common name for certain countries but I think Asian countries do not use the term witchcraft but more of black magic or ‘bomoh’ for the Malays.

Either way, be it witchcrafts or black magic, both have the same ideology - invoking Satans to do their bidding in return for certain rewards.

I strongly believe and standby of what I believe that most religions prohibit such practices because it’s going against what have been taught.

Once you start to dabble on such things, is very hard to pull yourself out from the addiction and from the Satans’ grasp. Because once you start, it means you have pledge allegiance and sell your soul to the devil. And it also means you are deviating your religion’s words about who should you worship to.

Witchcraft and black magic are the most active during the ancient times as there were little knowledge about the outside world and usually these practices happened in various ancient civilizations.

Witchcrafts and black magic can be correlate to cults, tribes and secret societies. Human sacrificial were the norm back then as.

As the era turns to the modern times, authorities clamped down hard on such practices. However, these practices are still out there but are very lowkey. There is no way one can wipe out such practices as more and more get swayed by the ‘beauty’ of it.

And usually, people who commit to such practices are the ones that seeks vengeance on someone that they feel disgusted or inferior to. Hence, they will try to ruin their victims’ life or even family by dabbling in black magic.

So, never ever dabble in such practices if you do not want to pledge alliance to the devil. Not worth of living your life to the fullest by doing so.
