What's the current status on Awful Emblem?

Still under construction, despite our best efforts! :v We've honestly taken the last couple month off since we're not doing anything for FEE3, but we'll get back into the swing of things soon enough. We don't really like to do too many interim releases, so the next one probably won't be out until Act 2 (Chp. 10-19) are all at least playable.
In no particular order:
- The script is written up through Chapter 17 (and like half of 18 at time of answering)
- Maps are done through Chapter 15
- Chapters 11 and 12 are actually playable, but with no plot
- Richter's animation is like half done
- We have portraits for 5/16 new characters (admittedly most of them popped up in Act 1 somewhere)
And uh...I guess that's about it?

how did pennsylvania make you feel this past week? :(

Obviously I'm a bit disappointed (doubly so considering I actually did some volunteer work for the Clinton campaign back in July/August), but in all honesty it wasn't really that surprising once Trump decisively won Ohio. PA, OH, and MI are all very similar rust belt states, and while PA isn't quite as heavily white as OH is, the demographics are close enough that there's a pretty close correlation there. The fact that we couldn't unseat Toomey either stings more than losing the state overall - both he and Casey are useless idiots but at least Casey is *our* useless idiot.
Of course, I moved out of state two months ago anyway, so it's not really my problem anymore. So in conclusion... *shrug*

does Harrisburg look like a war zone?

Fair warning: I do not live in or near Harrisburg (I'm about an hour south, much closer to the Maryland border) so a lot of this is secondhand information taken from articles that know the area much better than I do.
Now, with that said, uh...no? Manufacturing jobs have disappeared across the country for the past 30 years and PA was no exception, so on the most basic level the city is not the base it used to be. But it's adapted fairly well, the region has some of the fastest growing areas in the state and it has a lower unemployment rating than the state as a whole (5.6% last reported for the state), with the vast majority of the new jobs being in transportation, warehousing, or directly employed by the state (it is the capital, after all). It's true that it's no Philly or Pittsburgh, but Harrisburg has always just kinda been there in the middle of the state so it's hard to feel anything about it either way.

How do you feel about super deformed Chocobocolina returning for World of Final Fantasy? Technically speaking her name is Chocolatte and wears glasses because japan I guess(?) but she has the same voice actress in japan and hails from Final Fantasy XIII-2.

I...don't care? There's nothing wrong with Chocolina and there never was. She's a comic relief time traveling bird lady, which totally works as long as the game in question is going for a humorous or self-aware tone. The problem is that she debuted in XIII-2, a game that had no idea what it actually wanted to be until about 5 hours before it ended, and ultimately decided on "completely straight-faced and serious." To Square's credit, she fits in LR much better for a couple reasons, not the least of which is that LR is far more self-aware than XIII-2 ever was, which lets them easily handwave her coming back (see: "No, I trust you. Please stop talking.")
So basically as long as World of Final Fantasy doesn't have its head squarely lodged up its ass, she'll be fine. If it does (and given the track record of Dissidia and Kingdom Hearts, that's where the safe bet is), then she'll be in the same boat as all the other silly characters they're pulling in: Out of place? Eh, maybe. But who gives a damn?

Have you considered doing a Conquest LP titled "Corrin is a War Criminal"?

Short answer: No
Long answer: Of course I've thought about it, but there are a lot of things that stand in the way. The first and most obvious one is that I'm still waiting for that mysterious benefactor who has $400 lying around to get a 3DS capture card (and incidentally if that's you, the link is http://patreon.com/Artix, you know what to do). Second, even if I did have a card, I can think of at least two 3DS games off the top of my head that I'd rather do than Fire Emblem, so it's already pretty far back in the queue to begin with.
And third, I...honestly don't like Fates that much. Conquest is the least awful of them (mechanically, anyway), but even at its best I'd be hesitant to give it more than like, a 7/10. The plot is a flaming trainwreck (doubly so on Conquest specifically), the map gimmicks are irritating at best (again, Conquest is the least offensive here but lord knows it has more than a few maps that absolutely no one would miss), it carries over a lot of design decisions from Awakening that I hate (you just stop getting units like halfway through the game because hey, you're using the kids right?), it goes way overboard with the weapon tweaks and...look, I could go on, but you get the point. So even if I were to do it, it would be a half-spite LP and I'm not sure if anyone really wants that.

I always find myself wondering just how much creepos Awakening/Fates/#FE brought into Fire Emblem; sure, they were always present, but even then...

They were always here, and frankly they were probably the majority the fanbase to begin with. Even if the games didn't explicitly let you create a unit, marry your character of choice, and create an overpowered anime baby until recently, it's been in the game one way or another as far back as FE4. In fact, with the exception of Thracia, it's been in every Fire Emblem since then. And that's before we even start to talk about how FE is a really weird game series to begin with - look no further than Genealogy and its plot that literally revolves around using incest to create the anti-christ.
Now, did the increased focus on it bring in some weirdos? Of course it did. FE becoming mainstream brought in more of EVERY demographic, and that includes the creepy ones who we politely ignore when discussing the fanbase. But they're there, they were always there, and they've been there a lot longer than the "normal" fans have been.

sorry if this seems annoying maybe but. what are your pronouns? :u

Fae, stop using ask.fm when you can ask me directly, no one actually uses that emoticon.
(he/him)

Thoughts on skinship being excised from Fates? (I can see that FE goons aren't happy about it, given how the thread got gassed after the fact...)

Good riddance. Never should have been in the game to begin with.

What kind of job do you have that you've got a night shift to work all week?

I don't! I'm the assistant manager at a pharmacy, but they're remodeling a store in the district and they need someone to be there with the construction crew overnight. It wasn't even supposed to be me, but with the blizzard last weekend the person who was supposed to be there got snowed in.

What is one thing you hope to be able to do in the next year?

Finish this goddamn XIII trilogy of LPs.
Wait, you probably mean something productive. ...Yeah, I got nothing.

If you could time travel, would you go to the future or the past?

The future, obviously. How else could I be like my heroes Lightning and Hope?
