Sev, Steve, Lisa and I all worked together in the past, in fact we used to build games together at the other job. Tom is related to a guy I used to work with as well. We met Simon at PAX after he approached our booth for a chat.
Will we ever see the return of crawling zombies, like the one on the loading image?
There was a couple of issues with the crawlers:
1. Survivor weapon position being at shoulder height, we didn't want to add a "shooting down" animation
2. We'd need a custom hand crawling animation for the zombie itself
3. They would need to have some meaningful gameplay difference (i.e - more programming)
So yeah, more work for not much gain so we decided against it.

Yep, I've met a few over the years. We had a booth at PAX Australia in 2013 and had a bunch of people come by and say hello who had played my previous games, some had played Dead Zone as well.

Most definitely. Release day will be a day off for the studio. We did the same when Diablo 3 came out :)

I think we're pretty close to our vision in terms of mechanics. We're concentrating on content from here on out.

Why are the bridges the highest level mission areas in Newtown West, Canal Park and Canal Park respectively. Since you have to cross the bridges to get to these districts, you'd think they'd be the lowest, not the highest -- since they're the first thing you'd encounter.

The Radio Amp isn't currently used for anything in game. Old patch notes on the old forums say it's supposed to be used for the Radio Receiver, but it isn't. Unintended or Oversight?
Yeah, we had it as a kind of a barrier to getting into the chat system. After we started seeing fewer people in chat than we wanted, we removed it as a requirement for the building.

I have, but it's been a long time since I've done it. I tend to buy pre-made machines now because I'm lazy.

I played the early mod versions of Day Z a bit, but it was too janky. There's so many survival games out there now and I can see the appeal, but I like having objectives.
Just wondering, who composed the music for the Last Stand Dead Zone? It's a relatively short and simple loop but I find it hauntingly beautiful in an odd sort of way. It really complements the aesthetic of the game. too.
