Where can you grow a Mako and how long do you have to wait to grow them? Are we aloud to grow our own Mako's?

Oh my, quite late.
They could if they have powers, but the powers would have to have something to do with that. They can't have lightning powers and summon demonic entities.

If not, then unfortunately no they can't. If you can think of a creative way maybe we can discuss it?

sorry if this is on the front page, i couldn't see it anywhere! anyways, i was wondering how big a makoatl might be at birth, and then at full growth? also, how old might a makoatl be when it learns to hunt? thanks c:

It is not on the front page. We never came to a huge conclusion about size actually. In my mind, when a mako is born I think of it as a puppy sized creature. Maybe a larger breed, as at an adult I think somewhere between a German Shepard sized and a bit larger than a big wolf. They would not get larger than a small [very small] full grown bear.

I'm not sure about when it would learn to hunt. I suppose it's up to the owner as I personally roleplay my makoatls as human to feral shape shifters who don't need to hunt. ^^

I'm confused on the item usage thread. Do you just ask for a item to be on and an artist accepts it and does it, or do you buy items to put on and then ask for them to be put on and artists accept it and does it?

Sorry, I haven't kept up with the ask.
What happens is - you buy the item prior and have it in your bank account
[Or you've won it from a free comp or event]

Then when you're using it you go to the item usage thread and post the form
What item you're using, on what mako, who the artist is.
That way the bank can keep track and people don't keep items that they've used.

Typically the person talks to the artist in private about the usage to make sure that everything is explained so you don't use the contacts and post the form saying "The eyes changed from blue to black" per say.
You would talk to the artist who's doing it, or you could do it yourself-

Doing it yourself requires approval from Juliette or myself before posting
Should you NOT send a PM with a screenshot of the change and before the change then you will have your change revoked and possibly a strike or ban and your makoatl taken away depending on the severity.

Would someone please explain to me how you get 'sand dollars'? I want to get a semi custom since I have no makos yet but I have no DA and I don't know how to purchase sand dollars? Do you pay list pets or something?

Sand dollars are our free currency for those of you who don't have USD or DA Points! We give them out sometimes on the fanclub for those who can snatch them and can be earned during events. Unfortunately the Halloween event just closed, but we're having a few more events coming up, which will give a few more chances to earn sand dollars.

I may discuss opening sales for them for CS pets and such as well since that may help some of the memebers in the community as well. Thank you for asking.

Unfortunately though, sand dollars cannot currently be used to buy Semi-customs or customs. Just USD/DA Points [because they can be converted into USD]. We do occasionally give out free semi-customs in raffles and such though so keep a look out for those sort of things on our threads <3

OKAY I have a super important question. Makos are half dragon-half shark right; So do they lay eggs like dragons; or do they give live birth? Or is it a mix of both since some sharks have eggs hatch inside them This question has been bothering me you have no idea

I thought twins had to be aged at the same time? I see two on the growth thread that are twins being ages separately from there pair.

Were the twins owned at the same time or not?
Like, I know that Luna-Puppy put one of her two babies up for adoption
So the second one will be aged after the owner has had them for a month.

It's also up to the owners to submit forms about aging/growths since we can't worry about keeping track of everything. If they submit the request for growths at different times then they'll be grown at different times.

Okay, so, in regards to the Day 2 confusion... Maybe make a countdown clock for each new day, or perhaps a general time for when there /is/ a new? Say, 00:00 EST, as an example. Some of us thought it was a new day because it /was/ for us.

The problem is we won't be there to solve all of that. I used to stay up until midnight every night and it was hard for me, my mental health and body.

So I'd like to be able to control the new day.

This is acceptable, full customs are exactly what they sound really, full customs.
The only things that aren't okay are wings, pretty much. But pretty much anything can be altered
Tails, fins, hair, fluff, horns of course, etc.

Also of course full customs can have powers as well.

It'll just need to be approved before posting to make sure it falls in the standards

Can the special makos (50, 100, 150, 200) have powers? Not like huge ones. But little things?

It depends on the circumstance. Usually if a Mako is going to have powers it will already have them either in the information or somewhere on the reference sheet.

If not usually it's okay on those numbers to include it as long as it goes along with the characters story/personality/etc. Not like "I want this mako to have powers that have nothing to do with anything" sort of deal.

Yes, the only thing about it is, our staff is prone to swearing and the chat can go a bit crazy sometimes. I don't want anyone who's uncomfortable with this behavior applying. This is really the only reason the age limit is put into place

I personally swear a lot, and so do a lot of the staff. Mature content is just for us mostly since I don't want to hire you, find out you can't handle that, and then have to fire anyone ;v;"

Questions in concern of babes: Does the month long wait to grow begin on the birth date, or the day the mako is offically owned by his/her new owner? The main reason I ask is Vixen's little sis is up for a month long adoption... Will growth be immediately after, or does her new owner have to wait..?

The month long wait begins on the day which the owner has the mako in their possesion. So yes, Vixen's little sister will have a month from when the person is chosen [not when it ends]. That causes a bit of a problem but we don't have to worry about growing makos even if they're in contest ;v;" <3

Large color changes (like changing the whole tail color, the belly color, etc) should be at least 1 whole touch up kit worth. [Unnamed] has taken advantage of this and I don't want other people to do it. Touch up kits are what they're called, TOUCH UP kits. Not "completely change your mako kits!"

Answering ;v; on the other part

I feel like my small Hiatus from the community has put me in bad eyes with some of the other members... I don't want to feel pushed away, as I've put alot into not only my Makos, but their personalities, stories, etc... At the same time... How can I be sure my return for the Hallow event will be ok?

Don't worry, I think we all need breaks, especially when things blow up like that. I get it, usually I just don't say anything for awhile. But you shouldn't worry about it too much. Sounds like that "Easier said than done" sort of deal, but just stay like you were before c:

Enjoy your makoatls, answer questions, and show art. Really if they're going to have a problem over that they should just ignore it. People have done it all over every other community so taking a break isn't a big deal. Just be normal and who you are. If people can't respect that about each individual then what's the point about being in a community at all?

But if someone gives you trouble publicly, or privately you should come speak with us about it. Honestly though, for every person that doesn't like you there's sure to be -at Least- one who does. Plus so many people really do like you in our community so don't worry! Just be happy with your makos and everything will be good ^^

Judging usually takes awhile longer for whatever reason with bigger competitions, especially when only one person is judging.

But 200 is released and will be a bit of a longer term competition than 150 was. It was either that or pass #200 by because of other makos that were already waiting to be released ;v;"

I feel extremely unwelcome and hated in the community because of one little thing I said. Will this cause the artists to be slightly biased towards me and not choose me when trying for a mako? Also, I can't take back the thing I said and I've apologized, but I still feel as if I'm hated.

No no! This won't cause any hate or bais in judging. Both Juliette, myself, and my staff are all very fair people and we know how to take opinions into account. If for some reason you feel there's some form of bias against you please do feel free to PM Juliette or myself and we will take care of the problem.

Same for any hate. Don't be afraid of the community. If someone is PMing you hate or anything based on your opinion please come to us or a moderator and we will take care of it. Our community isn't meant to make people feel unwelcome, we're supposed to be a big happy family and if people can't tolerate opinions then we'll just stop asking. But don't feel afraid! Yes, they are considered Makoatls. In fact, they were never not Makoatls, {if that makes sense} Cole and I have decided to discontinue the registration on DA because it was too confusing to keep up with.

You no longer have to register your Makoatl to the DA group.
