What is a good mic ?
MXL 990 or AT2020 (XLR Versions) are both good and fairly cheap mics. If you can't afford a whole setup, just get the USB AT2020.

Uh this is a weird question but what SAT and ACT prep books do you recommend?
Unfortunately I can't answer this question. I didn't take the SAT because it's fairly outdated, and most colleges only are looking for one or the other. Also I took an ACT prep class. Although I did find many online resources and practice tests.
