Thank you for connecting with me. I want to thank you for asking this very important question.

The answer to your question is noted below:
Primarily, Medicare Open Enrollment period happens once a year. The 2014 open enrollment period for everyone with Medicare is from October 15, 2014 to December 7, 2014. This is the period when Medicare recipients can change their Medicare health plan and or prescriptions drug plan. Please note, that any changes during this period will take effect January 1, 2015.

If you are a dual recipient (meaning you have Medicare and Medicaid), you can change your Medicare health plan and/or prescription drug plan anytime to take effect the following month. For example, today is May 12th and I changed my Medicare health plan to another plan, if approved, my new plan will become effective June 1st.

Hello, I hope all is well. I am praying for you and your family, may your uncle rest in peace. I don’t of any organizations that provide funding for funeral expenses. However, here are some suggestions to help you bury your loved one. Have you given any thought to creating a gofundme (http://www.gofundme.com/ ) to get people to donate? Have you reached out to friends that can help? Have you spoken to the funeral parlor for a payment plan? Was your uncle on social security? If so, please contact social security to see what monetary assistance they provide. Again, my prayers are with you and your family. Please keep me posted. Thank you.
