what was your biggest regret in life?
...none, really. I mean I did make several decisions that, if I picked another option, would change where I am now and where I'm headed to be. However I've decided otherwise, and that's what has made my life right now what it is.

You want your present to be bearable. The future will eventually become your present. The future is also riddled with uncertainties. That's why most of our behavior concerning the future is to make it a better place to be in, so that we enjoy it once we reach that point in time.

Present. If you don't have your grips on short term stuff, it's hard to address the long term things.
