Hi! I know I've asking a lot of translation related to Horikita Maki. But if you don't want to translate this article, can you just tell me whether they are mostly bashing or praising Maki here? Thanks! http://girlschannel.net/topics/447579/

Not really bashing but saying that her acting is bad an that she relies on looks. But there are some comments saying that people making negative comments are antis.

what do you think japanese netizens/people or maybe celebs think about living in together before marriage, I know in Korea its really look down upon , how does japan differ ?

Well I can't tell you what Japan as a whole thinks of it since Japan is a country with millions of people...as far as netizens I have read a couple of threads about it and they seem to be 50/50. Some support it and some don't.

Japanese netizens really hates all the celebs right? LOL I know every post commented by different people. But how all of them can think the same way about everything?

I think it's mainly because people who hate certain celebrities go to the same sites to express their hate...like Girls Channels hates Miwa but 2ch likes her. As they say birds of a feather flock together.

EXILE or Arashi?

I opened this question and was going to respond but I forgot, sorry! ><
I like Arashi better. Exile might be better singers/dancers but I can't really get into them. I don't care for their songs either. i have been into Arashi for a while now. And while I'm not as obsessed as I used to be I still like them and watch their variety and listen to their music. I refuse to involve myself in that fandom though...the things I have seen...

how come you never translate any of my requests? :(

Maybe it's just a coincidence? I'll make sure to do the next one

Did the AKB article cause problems for you? I think even if it was taken out of context, it was still entertaining and funny.

Yes, it did. Crazed wotas can sometimes be delusional. But at least some people have common sense!

thanks for your translations. i enjoy your site very much

★-(ゝ∀・` Thank You!´ゝ∀・)-☆

?? You think so? I don't get it. If someone asks me if U-Kiss is popular in Korea, I will say no, even though I've never been to Korea.

Odagiri Joe was pretty huge in his prime and though his popularity has dropped and he had poor drama ratings at one point he's still a household name.

Does the average japanese really care what foreigners think of them? Koreans seem to be pretty obsessed with the idea of being liked by the entire world. I never got that vibe from japanese people. It's also amusing to see japanese people suprised when they realize that a foreigner is familiar with

I really can't speak for the average Japanese person.

Do you like Attack on Titan ? ;) Is there any anime that you love in general?

No and I really haven't watched anime in a while but when I did the ones I liked were Cowboy Bebop, Yu Yu Hakusho, Gurren Lagann, Bleach and some obscure ones no one knows about lol

Are you by any chance a member of Onehallyu?

Nope. I do not comment on any message boards of that sort

I'm a student from Singapore, researching the impact of netizen comments. I came across Minus Kakugo, and would like to ask some questions: Why do you think readers are interested in what J-netz think? Is interest rising, why? How do you select the articles to post? How will comments affect readers?

I guess readers are interested to see what people in Japan think of current pop culture news to get a better cultural perspective. Non-Japanese netizens usually look at things from the view point of their own culture so with these translated comments you can see who actually Japanese net users are reacting to hot topics, which is a useful viewpoint to have.
I would say interest is rising but not to the point of Korean netizen comments.
I select articles based on what I think will get most views, reader suggestions/requests, whatever hot topic is going on at the moment, and sometimes just because it's a particular celebrity I like or topic I find interesting.
I'm not sure how it affects the readers. Maybe it just gives them better cultural insight, granted a limited one.

the comments on the tohousinki thread are getting pretty messy, thought i should tell you before it gets too out of hand and your website turns into arama 1.0 lmao

I think you mean Netizenbuzz 2.0 lol. Let me go look at this

don't translate if you don't want on the blog but can you explain what's happening? just a short summary on askfm http://girlschannel.net/topics/334287/

Again, I'm not sure if it's the same person, but this was sent already and I said I would do it. This blog isn't my full time job. Anyway it's already up

i know i've been sending a lot of akb posts lately and people might get pissed, so you don;t have to translate if you don't want to but can you tell me what's happening here? http://girlschannel.net/topics/333602/

Okay but if wotas try to come at me saying that I'm trying to make AKB look bad I'm blaming you lol

Do you need money to be happy?

If we did not live in a capitalist society in which the possession of currency determined our quality of life and our ability to obtain basic human necessities such as food, shelter and clothing, then I would say no. Unfortunately, that is not the case, so in many ways, money is necessary for happiness. It really is a fallacy to say otherwise.

will you translate this on ikemens? http://girlschannel.net/topics/324527/

Sorry for the late reply (and this goes for everyone). I actually came across this thread and thought about translating it, but a lot of the replies are trolls and I have noticed that the ikemen threads I have done in the past caused a bit of controversy in the comments so I will pass on this one for now.
