i was wondering what's your process of planning fics and then writing them? you seem so productive and on point with so many good fics i feel like you have the magic formula loool
Very good question! I'll try and give the basic overview!
First step is of course coming up with the idea. Even if I'm working off a prompt, I need to let it marinate in my head for a while before I actually start mapping things out. I use that time to think about the major moments I want the story to have, and what the ending will be.
Then I write a basic outline, focusing most on how I want the story to start, how I want it to end, and what might need to happen in the middle to reach that ending. And the most important thing about this step is that I don't hold myself to that outline. I just use it as a framework. A plot point needs to change? I'm open to change it. A chapter I hadn't been anticipating needs to be added? No problem!
After the outline, I start writing, always starting from the first few chapters sequentially. By time I'm a few chapters in, I generally have a better sense of what needs to happen in the middle than I did when I started. So at that point, I go back to the beginning chapters and see if there's anything I need to add or change based on what I've decided for the middle. I can also add sneaky bits of foreshadowing and what not, as well as polish up characterization so that their behavior and actions add up throughout the whole story :) In some cases, I may have to do major rewrites. Some examples of this would be Old Wounds (originally, the love triangle with Eunmi was a bigger conflict) and Two Sides of the Same Love (I changed who the villain was halfway through writing it and had to fix the entire beginning and character backstories to match the new baddie--fun fact!) This is the most time consuming part, but it needs to happen whenever I'm struggling with writer's block, because my writer's block almost always happens when I'm unhappy with the plot and it needs to change for me to write easily again.
By time I take care of the middle bits, it's usually smooth sailing to the end! When I'm finished writing the whole thing, I do another read through to make sure it all flows OK, from beginning to end. If it does, I begin posting! Every once in awhile, I may do minor plot edits to the middle after I post the first few chapters, but just really small things. And that's the SonicBoom process!

Hi, Maria have you seen the full lyric of Thank You which is written by Jinyoung? I searched for the engsub & it just tear my heart apart. The song is like a piece of Markjin’s hidden story. I believe that he wrote the song when he thought about Mark, about them. Sorry for my bad English.
Thank You is definitely one of those multi-layered songs I think about a lot. Ultimately, I think this song was written on at least one level about Aghases. I don’t say this because I buy the line that love songs are “about our fans!” (When he and Mark pulled that bs to explain Higher, I just laughed), but there are clear references in Thank You (like the green lights) and how they present it at concerts is usually a fan dedication.
However, I still think parts of it lend itself to a romantic interpretation, especially the first verse. I remember when I first read the lines about a first encounter and small hands holding each other, it reminded me of the part of Higher when Jinyoung sings “I can't forget the image of you smiling while looking at me like a kid” and then talking about now being old enough to love this person.

Thank you so much!!! I started writing it a while ago but dropped it halfway through because I wasn't happy with my writing. Then I listened to a writing podcast which advised continuing to write and setting those feelings aside, even if you think the whole thing is garbage. Then go back and pull out the good aspects and rewrite what needs work. I'm so happy I revisited this story, and I think it turned out so much better (and was finished at all) thanks to me giving it a second chance.

It'll be a one-shot romcom. I hope you won't be disappointed about it not being a chaptered fic, because the fact that it's a one-shot means I've already written it, and it can come out sooner :D I'm planning on releasing some gift fics around the holiday, and this will likely be one of them!

There's so many JJP contents these days and tbh I'm quite shocked, JB suddenly becomes so clingy to JY, says some suspicious things and I just go 0.o?? what's wrong with him??? I swear after AAA he's like a different person. I need more Markjin to calm down :'(

When I’m sad, I actually cry my heart out to let go of all that heavy feeling. I usually watch videos that makes me cry like Artax dying in Neverending Story or BamBam crying during his ment. And now I also read 2jae’s breakup in LFS. DAMN it still makes me cry even tho I’ve read it so many times!
It makes me cry, too! I usually don’t cry when I’m writing, but that one got me T^T I think that kind of situation hits close to home for a lot of us

In all of ur fics I always find myself comeback to reread The words I have to say to you n Through the Dark.I just love ur non-AU stories so much :( The way u write make it so real and totally believable. I really hope u can write a canon multi-chapter fic that focus on Markjin someday:( Anw I feel-
I do truly hope to write another non AU sometime! My AU prompt ideas have been going wild of late, but there has been a non AU prompt or two lingering in the back of my mind for when I’m not so monopolized by other stories. We shall see!
Since it's already Nov, what's your fav markjin moments this year??
My favorite moment was Markjin went to the beach together in LA during the difficult time Mark was going through, and then at the concert later on, they hugged each other with that absolute adoration in their eyes. It really soothed my soul so much T^T
Also, any of the times Jinyoung stuck his hand in Mark's muscle shirts during the tour, especially when it caused him to get a handful of sweat from it lol

I'm so happy you guys seem pumped for it ^^ I was a little anxious because it's unlike anything I've ever written before, but I think it's going to be a fun time! Writing the Pirates series really showed me how much I actually love writing action romances haha

I never really set out to write any of my fics with the thought of having it be similar to something else I've written. I just get an idea and follow it where it takes me--that tends to be my process. I know I've wound up with a few fics with a similar theme like Old Wounds/Looking for Someone and What Comes After/After a Dream, but that was all unintentional...I was just was following an idea that reflected on subjects I really enjoy reflecting on in both cases! So I really don't know what I'll come up with in the future...for now, what I've got on my plate are stories that are pretty unique from things I've written before.
Oh and about your crossover stories - I didn't give my idea out to you because I dont really know! I guess I'm not the most creative one haha! Just whatever you'll come up with I'll be satisfied and happy anyway! Hehe!
I am trying to come up with ideas, too, but it's hard! There's so many options! I really want to do one with Looking For Someone Mark...I just haven't figured out which Jinyoung to throw into the mix.

Hardest would be Old Wounds...and one of the fics I haven't posted yet, Option One on my twitter poll. In both I hit a wall in the middle and realized I had written myself into in a direction I wasn't happy with, so I had to go back and entirely rework several chapters until it was back where I wanted it to be.
