My resolution is 4:3 so i have to put something to cover the 16:9 ratio.

https://ask.fm/Spectrym/answers/135962524858 oh wow that's clever, was that your only motivation for that name?

i tried to think of a witty name 2 years ago using a pun and i think one of my friends told me that he went back to Seoul for holidays. I didn't know that Seoul was pronounced 'Soul' so when i found out i tried to think of a name that would include 'Soul' but using 'Seoul' as a substitute. In league of legends, the name 'Seouless' was not taken so i immediately ditched my old name in favor of it. A year later, it felt weird being 'Spectrym' in osu and 'Seouless' in league so i also changed it in osu when i found out it was open. The idea for that comeback wasn't intended for the original changing to the name at all.

do you think axarious has better aim than cookiezi? (serious)

i think no. If you've seen cookiezi's relax dt on game over and things like blue zenith you know he just cant speed the bpm he can aim; his aim's still good. Axarious is very close though, i feel to cookiezi's aim.

https://ask.fm/Spectrym/answers/135687093434 o_o, I'm someone who really only uses HD, even when playing EZ and stuff. Do you think this is setting myself up for a mistake?

I'm the same and my no mod reading is pretty bad. If you really want to continue using HD only then i think it's fine, but this limits you for things like tourneys. It helps a lot with farming pp though, lol

Do you believe it's important to learn and maintain HD and nomod ability?

Not so much HD i don't think it's that necessary. There are few players who try to keep ar8-9 HD reading. I think no mod reading is a necessity though, no?

https://osu.ppy.sh/u/1545019 Thoughts on this player?

Seems well rounded in no mod judging from top plays and can aim and single tap pretty fast consistently. Should expand on HR plays to be more balanced, and continue doing what their doing to keep on improving. Seems to have a lot of potential, considering they were 4 digits 3 months which seems pretty scary. Good player overall!
(that's some GOOD SHIT ? ? ✔ ? )

How do I improve my spinning ability? Can skin affect my ability to spin? Can you give us an in depth analysis as to how one might spin at the ferocity and vigor that you do?

https://ask.fm/Spectrym/answers/135385013946 Do you believe that 'gimmick reading' as you say, (I'm assuming you mean stuff like EZ-mod AR's or something) is not important to getting very good? I've heard a slew of different opinions on this (e.g it helps sightread things way easier, etc.).

i think of gimmick reading as slider heavy stuff, notes behind sliders, changing slider velocities/spacing etc, but i guess EZ can be considered gimmick reading as well. I think it's an important part of the game, and is necessary to play the different types of maps this game has to offer other than the jump/triple spam type maps so i would say yeah, it's pretty important for getting good. It definitely helps with sightreading to learn such reading imo as well.

How do i improve my reading?

Okay i'll give a long rant about skills in general i guess because i've been receiving a lot of gameplay questions recently. I personally believe there to be 5 types of skill in this game: Reading, Stamina, Speed, Accuracy, and Aim.
I believe there to be fundamentals as well. (Aim/Streaming)
I believe that the formula for consistency is reading, stamina, and aim.
Each one of these skills and fundamentals can be trained, but i think accuracy and reading are developed the longer you play osu. To improve aim, speed, and stamina, you just really have to play more of the maps that help you with this.
Aim: Jump Maps
Stamina: 1/4 Notes and Streams, little to no sliders preferred
Speed: There is single tap speed, stream speed, and burst speed, play maps that help with each(self explanatory), i think it's better if 2 of the above are combined to be used to play in a map.
Reading and Accuracy are mental things, however i feel. If you're talking about reading ARs then that's easy to train: just spam the AR that you're training until you feel comfortable enough to aim and play on it. Complex things like gimmick reading require mental thought in the map to play and isn't really something that can be explained, just practiced. Sorry i can't help with this specific part. I can say that reading has a lot to do with accuracy, however as 1/3,4,6,8 have rates in how fast they appear and are usually spaced differently for each timing. (1/4's are jumps, 1/6s are usually really close bursts, for example) For accuracy, there are things like offset that can help you, but all in all you just have to tap according to the beat.
Hope that answered your question(s) :D
