ano yung masamang chemical na nasa iced tea? answer in the deepest scientific way.
Since I don't have access to a full-fledged laboratory with analysis equipment, I'll base my answers off the ingredients list and research. Ice tea is mainly composed of Sugar, Freeze-dried Tea turned into powder and artificial colorants, flavorings and additives. The freeze drying process breaks down the antioxidants in Iced tea, therefore reducing its health benefits. It also increases the amount of some components of tea that is generally safe to consume with regular tea, but may contain dangerous levels after the freeze-drying process. Sugar may increase the risk of getting Type II Diabetes. Most companies usually use less sugar, replacing the bulk of it with Aspartame and Acesulfame Potassium. These chemicals show no carcinogenic effects and/or side effects, except to those with a rare genetic defect that stops them from properly metabolizing said compounds. The artificial colorants, flavorings and additives pose no harm to humans when not taken in excessive amounts. The preservative used in some iced tea brands may increase the risk of liver, thyroid and kidney problems. Also, some brands contain oxalate-based additives which increase the risk of getting kidney stones. It's okay to drink iced tea, just make sure you don't drink too much of it, and drink a lot of water as well.
