Are the good things that come to people who wait, the leftovers of people who went before them?

Not really.
Sometimes people who went before first are the key for the people who wait.. Sometimes you need to wait. But first you have to work hard for things.
Just think like this, everything happens for reason. Nothing is completely bad. There's always something you can learn from experiences.

If you were given a chance to go back in time and change whatever you would want to change, would you?

....I wouldn't. Although I'm struggling to do the opposite.
There are 2 possibilities (theory) if you play with time.
1. When past changes, future will also change. What you get in the 'now' world will disappear/change once you change past. Anything... including people around you... people you love now, feelings you share. Would you give in your 'now' friends and 'now' thing to get something from the past?
2. There will be parallel world. You won't meet your 'now' world and you will live in a new world, building a completely new world. So, would you?
For me, it's better if you fix things in the future, no matter what...
Really, time shift is really deep and complicated orz;; That's what I learned from Albert Einstein theory and Den-O ;(
