Do you love being with people, or do you prefer time to yourself?

The only thing that made me social was my art. Before it, I was extremely quiet and always with myself. I find myself back there nowadays, naturally, so I would say that it is my "natural state". Though I genuinely enjoy collaborating with others, and also spending time with other people who became good friends of mine thanks to art and collaborations.

If you could invent a holiday, what would it be? How would it be celebrated?

International Metal Busking Day. A day when all smaller metal bands/artists would take a corner of the street and play their music. We don't have any metal buskers (not any that I've seen)... and I'd love to see some, someday.

I think that's not a new question, but...how did you think to connect the bellydance to metal music? I think that's one of the most amazing ideas I've ever seen, you must know that you stroke my interiority, you inspired me so much that now I consider you as the incarnation of Art. xD

It's been asked so many times indeed, and I think that I would only repeat myself if I tried to write it again, so I will quote the answer I gave in an old interview when someone asked me the same question.

"I was (and still am) very much moved and inspired by Ancient Egyptian spirituality ever since I was little. During mid-2007, I fell in love with bellydancing, as I noticed how spiritual it can be. During the same time I also fell in love with metal music, and naturally fused them together."

Do you feel lucky that you perform with all of those bands on stage?

I wouldn't call it lucky, but honoured. I feel honoured to have been able to perform with some of the bands that I have performed with. The experiences made me grow so much, internally, as an artist and person.

Hey Fo , I wanted to ask you , how can you manage to work so hard for mahafsoun and study in the same time ? Or did you drop school ?

I am a student as well as an artist. It's not easy, of course, since I have to manage my time to meet both sides of my life, but I wish to have a well-paying career aside from Mahafsoun. Mahafsoun is my pleasure/art, not a source to make a living from. It's difficult, but worth it. :)

Which youtube channels do you recommend to learn bellydance? I mean, do you have any favorite bellydancer on youtube or did you follow one in particular to learn... I'm a bit too lost. Much love from Spain, you're awesome and such a sweetheart.

I'm not familiar with any channels that teach bellydance in particular, but I highly suggest watching bellydancers that you like. Simply watching them dance. Their moves will give you an idea of how you can move your body and what things you can do with your own body. It gives you a great reference.
When I was starting, I loved (and still do) watching Zoe Jakes. Her soft movements really inspired me. You also can find some bellydancers whose style you really enjoy... and simply watch them, paying attention to their moves and "how" they did it.

Definitely. If I can put together such a look and find the right people to help me with the body paint and makeup, then I'd love to do a shoot based on one of my favourite games and characters. Kratos is amazing, but not that easy to pull off.

you have very beautiful skin. Do you avoid the sun? What skincare products do you use?

Thank you so much. I try to avoid too much sun, and protect my skin as much as I can with sunscreens. I also use more natural skin products and makeup, which made a huge difference in my skin after around a year of switching to it. I also highy recommend brands that don't test on animals. It's just an added "goodness" to the whole thing. :)

Are you against smoking?

I am not a smoker and am not a fan either. As a dancer, it's one of the worse things that I can do to my body. I do smoke traditional style hookah once in a while, though, which can be just as bad as smoking due to the very thick smoke. At least it lacks all the harmful chemicals.

Thank you so much! I'd love to visit Brazil some day, especially to perform there. I know that there is a huge community of bellydance lovers from Brazil, as I get so much wonderful support from Brazil concerning my dance. :)

Do you enjoy the German symphonic metal band, Haggard? :) I find that belly dancing to their music is such a delight!

Of course I know that band. I think their music is perfect for metal bellydance. Maybe soon I will do a video to their music. :)

Absolutely! I miss doing those kinds of outdoor videos so much. Hopefully this year.

Do you have any favorite book or author?

I love some of Anne Rice's books, particularly her Vampire Chronicles. I also enjoy Dan Brown's writing... and of course, absolutely love Tolkien.

Mahafsoun is an original name I created for myself to use in the arts world. It consists of 2 Farsi words.
Mah - Moon
Afsoun - Spell, Bewitchment, Magick, Sorceress

Do you have a life motto that you live by?

Many... but the one I keep in mind more often these days is that life is all about balance. You wouldn't appreciate the highs if you didn't suffer through the lows.
