Is there a possibility that the brothers did the bombings and now he's realized what he's done and of course wants to live. People wonder why they didn't have escape plans, didn't hide etc.? Maybe because they were really that dumb and we saw that,one gun against police? He sees that now perhaps?

Yeah that's a likely situation! That reality just sunk in and he saw what damage he caused and how many flaws were in that plan.
