what is MAMA panel and how is it related to internal data?

idk what mama panel is tbh... i wish they'd specify who exactly it entails but who knows. here's a brief explanation about "internal data" https://ask.fm/miIktea/answers/142966800615 and i guess it would be related to mama panel in that people might accuse those involved in the mama panel of using questionable "internal data" to unfairly give an award or something?

last year following bangtan's mma wins, k-exols were pissed and multiple of them called melon customer service to ask them about what went into the data and calculations needed to determine the winners... basically they were implying (or straight up accusing tbh) that the daesang given to bts wasn't legitimate and there was something fishy going on. customer service responded with use of "internal data" to determine the winner - meaning the melon streaming counts from the past year. they referred to it as "internal data" and never publicly revealed that data bc they claimed it was too much to show. exo-ls took this as further proof that bts didn't fairly win or deserve the award and were trying to get melon to reveal the truth and take it away from bts or whatever. but anyways now "internal data" is like a joke/the go-to reason to use when questioning winners lol. now that it's 30% people are just talking about it again and bringing up the same arguments.

it's not private... open concert is open to the public as long as you bought tickets for entrance. they always have an audience.

it was an unofficial schedule in that it wasn't announced or posted anywhere that bangtan would be there, but open concert is technically open to the public as long as you have a ticket? it's not like fans are specifically prohibited from entering... idk how they knew bangtan would be there, but they didn't really do anything wrong? i just heard that managers/staff were telling fansites to not take pictures outside of the boys going to and from the building, which i think most if not all fansites abided by? idk i just got on twitter for the first time in the past few hours haha

it matters between different families. i'm assuming jk and his brother's 돌림자 is "jung", but i don't think there's a hierarchy to be established between siblings based on that. whereas with min yoonGI and min KYUNGhoon, yoongi is higher up. but this whole 돌림자 and hierarchy thing is a more traditional concept? it's less commonly used or practiced nowadays and i know not all families use the 돌림자 system when naming their children.

Hi, i have a question, in the Knowing Brothers episode, Suga said to Min Kyung-hoon that he is higher than him in hierarchy, umm what does it mean? :D

they’re discussing their 돌림자, the letter/syllable in names that is repeated when naming children to indicate that they are blood related. for example youngji and youngran where the “young” is repeated. min yoongi and min kyunghoon are both min’s, so they’re distant relatives by ancestry. the “gi” in yoongi’s name is his family’s 돌림자 and the “kyung” in min kyunghoon is his family’s 돌림자. i’m not too familiar with hanja, but they were saying that the “gi” is one step higher in generational hierarchy than “kyung”, thus making yoongi kyunghoon’s “uncle” within the min family tree haha.

sorry that was my bad! i didn’t think music bank would go back on air :/ though if you follow the bts_bighit account or the fancafe, you’ll get notices of their music show schedules like the day before so that you know about updates. i think music core is actually back on air now too so they should be going tomorrow? better to be safe than sorry ;;

it says taehyung told the fans not to go out/stay out too late at night and the fans joked that they should just stay overnight. then taehyung told them they should travel in groups and hoseok asked if all 600 of them are going back to seoul together bc it’d be scary to see such a huge group moving together at night haha

yeah! the sf festival isn't postponed - it's a live concert so they're performing on sunday, but it'll be recorded for tv broadcast the following week. inkigayo airs at 12:10pm kst!

yup! the comeback show on thursday is the first. i believe the sf festival is recording this sunday and it'll be broadcasted the following sunday instead of the usual inkigayo! also they apparently prerecorded for the inkigayo episode that will be broadcasting this sunday.

hi uhm i wna ask something. Bts' concept is love yourself right but why does the songs talk about loving someone else..

hmmm i'll tell you what i think.... the overall concept is love yourself and they've stated before that by that they mean: if you can't love yourself, then how can you love others? not all the songs on the album are about loving others, for example, mic drop and go go are more neutral and focused on themselves. you also have to remember that this is the first album of the love yourself series, so they may open up more on the concept in the future! yesterday at the press conference, yoongi said they decided to call this album 承 (development) because a lot of the songs are about the moment someone has fallen in love, but also that they'll have more songs to release soon. it may be that throughout this series they'll be starting with love in general, but eventually work their way towards expressing learning how to love yourself? we'll just have to see how the series progresses!

lisaaa how i can buy pass for mnet? bts are in #7 omg i want to help them but i dont understand korean

i don't use mnet so i don't really know ;; idk if it's as easily accessible for international fans as like melon for example, but i looked on the site (on desktop) and there's a "이용권 구매" button at the top right of the homepage! i would assume it'd be best to buy the one month "mp3 30곡 다운 (30 song download)" subscription if you manage to figure out a payment method!

I've learned the Korean alphabet, I know how to read (but I can't understand half of the things I'm reading unless it's a word that I've seen constantly) and write. I've also been complimented on my fluent pronunciation at times. I'm eager to learn this language in a short amount of time, any tips?

i don't know what else to say about learning vocabulary except to look up definitions and learn them as you go? try to see in what context a word is usually used and as for trying to speed up the fluency, just constantly practice 😅 start off with easier things to read? like i still have a hard time understanding really technical/professional terms, slang, idioms, hanja-related terms, etc. so i just type it up on the internet if i run into something i don't know... sorry i'm not very good at giving advice lol

i was born in the US and korean like you as well, and korean was my first language but once i went to school i forgot :( i'm still okay in it now but i have trouble with vocabulary the most and some grammar. do you have any advice in gaining fluency back?

english is my first language, but i think i maintained korean until now because i took korean classes throughout my school career and i spoke it constantly at home! i'm not at all 100% fluent, but i use the naver english/korean dictionary soooooo much for vocabulary haha. as for grammar, i think the best way would be to continuously practice reading, be it a book, new articles, etc., and have conversations with someone who is fluent! ever since i started translating stuff on twitter, i think it has helped me a bunch and i've learned a lot in the process.

when will bts start promotions in music shows?

it should start this week, but on thursday i think they'll be doing the comeback show instead of mcountdown? i'm not sure about that yet... music bank and music core are temporarily cancelled, which leaves inkigayo and they pre-recorded for that!

it's more like workers are refusing to work and there are problems that need to be sorted out, so the shows can't air. a strike is basically a protest, and in the case of kbs and mbc, they're on strike because of unfair and unjust treatment from the higher ups to people like journalists, PDs, and other employees. the companies are probably under investigation right now and when this happened in past years, the presidents of the companies resigned.

Do u know how to download songs from melon valid for ARMY II application? songs must be in '개별곡' but mine ended up in 'MP3' only(i bought the i-mp3 30 pass), is that okay? if not what should i do?

i'm not sure about that sorry ;; i was trying to figure that out, but i just ended up downloading songs on my itunes and used that for proof
