Some misunderstandings on pp maps
"pp maps are bad maps"
- No, they're not always bad. They have NOTHING to do with the quality of the map. Don't misunderstand this. pp maps can be either good or bad.
"It's 100% the system's fault, the mapper is always 100% legit."
- It's originally the system's fault. But what's worse is that it ENCOURAGES mappers to map pp maps. Most of the mappers already know that their map can be played a lot if they make pp maps. Most of them just don't abuse it clearly.
But it's not a good thing to insult specific mappers as you don't know if that's an intended pp map or it's just the mapper's style. It's up to their conscience whether they'll intentionally abuse the system and boost the pp mapping meta or not. Still, those 'pp-intending mappers' exist, and that's why a big part of maps nowadays just look similar. So it's the system's fault -> up to the mappers too.
"If you hate pp maps, go and play other maps"
- You don't know why people complain about pp maps. They don't hate the specific map. They dislike the fact that those maps are created to attract people's plays which can possibly ruin the game. How? Having most of playcounts on those little amount of pp maps makes other 'plain' maps have much less attention and make the 'plain' mappers just quit. This has inflated the meta of pp mapping, and now we see pp maps everywhere.
"pp maps are not easy. If you think it's easy to play, play it youself and get 600pp"
- The point is NOT about whether "I" can get the pp. They're talking about "the map." If many people are capable of setting one of the best performances on a map than others, it IS a pp map. Whether I can get the pp or not is definitely not important at all.
"plz enjoy the game"
- I hate this meme so much. Of course this game is meant to be enjoyed. If you don't wanna get stressed about the community and the system, yes please enjoy it. But remember, the reason you guys still can see good new ranked maps and new songs is because those people exist who make 'voices' to make this game/system/community better. Don't tease people who're trying hard for the community.
