That's pretty soon actually. Normally, I'd celebrate on the weekend leading up to the day with a small family celebration and cake. For this year though, on the actual day, I'll probably be starting work (I know, it's a bit insane). Nothing too special, usually.
Roald Dahl, no question about it. His children's books are the best, and his books for adults are fascinatingly good and morbid. A true writer.

What is your favorite children's story?
Danny and the Champion of the World. The story's very touching and it deals with plenty of grey-morality issues. Roald Dahl's a great writer, and he's able to provide children with excellent stories. Also, that bonus short message from Roald Dahl himself on the last page of the book, dedicated to all children who read the book and who will become parents themselves one day. The most touching children's novel from Roald Dahl, in my opinion.
