the first one. I could change my appearance to be anything so I could do basically whatever I wanted. Want to be rich? Rob a bank, change your appearance in order to avoid being caught. Want to turn (essentially) invisible, become a fruit fly. Want to just fly away and not give a shit, turn into a speck of dust and ride the wind for a while.
