How do you like to celebrate your birthday?

Having my closest friends over and laughing and watching movies all night.

Morgan's story? :(

Morgan, My seventeen year old cousin who grew up like a sister and bestfriend to me. Got in to the bad scene as a teenager. On may 10 She cam home from a treatment with 2 months clean off heroin and we were having a sleepover, the first night went well. On the morning on May 12th I woke up not even inches away from Morgan and i couldnt wake her up to go to church for mothers day. Morgan had went into a cardiac arrest do to a drug overdose. Her pulse was so low i couldnt feel it anywhere on her. The ambulance came and got her and we thought she was already gone. She made it threw the first couple days and they said we were lucky for that. After a month at providence st. vincent hospital they said she was stable enough to go to a home for fragile children. she sat there. still. for about 3-4 months. Everyone Went to see her almost everyday, trying to get something out of her. We thought she would be like that forever. I forget the exact date but about 2 months ago almost she starting going down. The home she was at called the ambulance and they rushed her to the hospital. They had to bag her and breathe for her. Then finally like an hour later, the end of life specialist took my grandpa, grandma, and i into a room that day and sat us down and told us we were gonna have to think about what morgan would want and if she would want to live like this. My grandma turned to me and said "Hannah, honestly, if you were like this, as a teenager, would you want to have to live like this" I paused and thought, then shook my head and we all started slowly crying. We were planning on waiting till monday (that day was a friday) to see how she was doing and if nothing changed we would go further with the end of life stuff. That monday morning my grandma was talking to morgan like we always did and i dont know, i guess something just clicked. She started responding to us any way she could. The doctors recoreded it and did a brain scan and it said her brain is active again. Shes been all up hill from then. Today she can eat on her own, almost talk fully, and controls her own power chair. It was a miracle. No doctor ever thought she would come out of what she was in. It still will be an adjustment for everyone since morgan was a fully normal teenager with no disabilities before, but shes been soo strong and amazes me everyday. #MorganStrong
