I tried to get into basketball & sports when I was younger, but I just could not. They did not excite me. They still do not. People thought I was abnormal for that. I was more into comics & reading. That caused me to get labeled a nerd.

Talking about your feelings is frowned upon in my family. It is viewed as "wanting attention." That is why people get things bottled up until they snap. That or they get a stroke. It is especially frowned upon when you are a man.......

I’m not a clingy person and keep my distance from others, sometimes going months or even years without contacting them but it still hurts when they don’t get back to my messages when I do reach out. Why does it still affect me even when we aren’t close friends?
It feels that way because you care. If they don't respond, that's on them. At least you know you tried.
Does this guy’s (the guy that I like) sister most likely not like me if she left me on requested when I requested to follow her spam page on Instagram? We follow each other on her other main page and I sent her a message saying hi but she didn’t read the message nor did she respond.
I'm not sure to be honest. Maybe give it some time and see if she gets back to you. If there's no response, maybe just let it be. You don't want to push someone to do something if they don't care to. That could possibly annoy them or push them away more. Without completely knowing what's on the sister's mind it's hard to say.
For some, they have no choice but to suffer in silence either due to being around extremely judgemental people or the people around them are the source of their suffering.
