That's hard to imagine. We have two likely wins in Kansas and Iowa State, but then we would have to win twice against either #5 Baylor, at #9 TCU, #11 Oklahoma, an improved West Virginia team and an always tough Texas squad. Right now I would say that Tech finishes 5-7, but going 6-6 would help with recruiting and other aspects.
If I had to guess right now, I would say Texas Tech. He's been interested in us for so long, he's taking his only official visit to Tech this weekend and Kevin Curtis is recruiting him. Every time the coaches have a chance to meet with Tyron Johnson, they do so, forming a long relationship with him. Plus it doesn't help that Tech has one of the Top QBs in the nation in Stidham and two 4-star offensive linemen. Texas Tech is in a great position to get him. I hope he picks the Red Raiders
He's behind the depth chart right now behind the likes of Marquez, Grant, Batson and Davis. He got some playing time this weekend, but I don't think we'll be seeing a lot of him this year. Still has a lot to learn
I think it'll take three more years. Texas Tech is young right with 7 new recruits, but Tubby is recruiting some great athletes and guys that could help lead Tech to the tourney in 2 or 3 years. By 2017-2018 season, we'll be respected and ready to make noise. As for the new guys, I think they'll struggle at first with the holes left, but Tubby has been preparing these guys, and I think they have the athletic ability and effort to make an impact immediately.
Got to go with Wes Welker. A small athlete that many people disrespected coming out of high school and college and flat out proved everyone wrong. When I played football, everyone always called me Welker because I was small, but shifty and a speedster. Plus he was on the New England Patriots. My favorite athletes right now though are Jakeem Grant, Toddrick Gotcher and Eric Gutierrez
I haven't been a Tech fan for long. I used to be a Texas fan (god bless my soul), but I started to fall in love with the school in 2010 and started watching Tech sports in 2012. By default, it would be Doege, but I think I would've like Kingsbury the best if I watched Tech back then. He's got a never give up attitude, a cool personality and plays with passion.
They have a shot, but that's about it. Art Briles helped Stephenville become a 4A powerhouse, so Stidham does have respect for him. Plus, he could create a legacy there also. Baylor already has a QB committed in 2015 however, so I don't think he'll go there.
Not really, here's why. First off, he's going to learn from one of the best QB gurus in the past 5 years. Secondly, he wants to create a legacy for a program like Manziel did for A&M. Thirdly, he's been recruiting big names like Fehoko and Mitchell to come here. Finally, he knows people going to Tech, including his GF. I don't think Stidham is going anywhere
Eh, not really. I'm about 90% confident that Stidham will stay committed to the Red and Black. Sometimes recruits like taking visits to see different campuses and experience a different type of football setting. Heck, I want to go to A&M's campus at some point, but will I go to school there? Hell no! Some recruits just like going to other schools and see how they run things.
HAHA Actually yes, I feel like the stalker sometimes. It was weird when I first started looking at recruits twitter pages, but I got over it after a while. It's just strange to look at someone's twitter and see their tweets, yet they don't know who you are. I can't imagine how recruits feel when random fans start retweeting them. I try to give a tweet a few minutes before I retweet it, so it doesn't seem creepy.
