How would you feel if you inflated like a balloon in front of your friends in public? Embarrassed, happy, cute, excited, disturbed, angry, confused, worried, terrified?

What are the 5 main things to improve your singing?

oooh thanks for asking!
1. Make sure you have a proper pitch. If you can't sing the right pitch it's gonna be really hard to correct that. But a good way to practice that is on a piano and singing with scales.
2. Breathe the right way. So many people just breathe into their chest, it's a common mistake. Breathe into your diaphragm instead. Imagine your stomach expanding and not your chest and shoulders rising. Breathing the right way will help you sing with powerful volume, control shaky-ness and obviously get you more air. Also, breathe through your nose and not your mouth.
3. Understand music and not just your voice alone. Learn how to read music, hear notes, learn terminology and most importantly rhythm.
4. If you have no rhythm and can't identify beats your technically screwed.
5. Understand how your voice works. This is something that is complicated to explain. When your singing there is like 3 different settings your voice goes in (chest voice/belt voice, head voice and mixed voice) learn how to use these properly, (Honestly just go google it). Then you can embellish your voice by adding vibrato, riffs, adlibs and basicly your own style.
These are just things I personally think are important in singing and may not be important to others but have fun singing!
