Well, depends on what you look for. For me, I cared about academics, school size, and the classes offered or curriculum.

I don't think that doing research during freshman year would be a good choice. College courses would be something new, and you need to adapt to the courses, workload and tests and so forth. Getting into a research group here is incredibly easy since UofR is a private institution with approximately 6000 undergrads only.
