after you get an "O O O O O O", it's time of using Orbs of Fusing. You have possibilities of:

Okay if you really want to take #1s i could give you some tips. You failed to let me know your username so i 'm not aware of which type of players you are so i have to discuss all types of maps. It's impossible for you(and any player in this world) to take all types of #1s, you know... So you should decide which road you should take, because every road is long and hard to walk through.
Type I: no mods (extremely tough maps)
i mean in this kind of maps you don't even have to SS or even FC because nobody or not many people could do it. These maps are, hmm, maybe star 7 and above? i dunno because i can't pass them with HT...
If you can take this kind of #1 you'll get lots of RWBO and fans, that's for sure.

Suggestions: ...i dunno how to practise it, maybe you should ask ruruchi himself 0.0
Type II: HDDT (insane maps)
A single HDDT above groups of HDHR is attractive, too.

Type III: Superb accuracy (old maps and many other maps)
I dunno what to say, look at the hentai wolf and his 2000+ #1s ;w;

Type IV: HDHR (insane+)
OA10SS is an art, and very very difficult too.

Type VI: HDFL with golden mods combinations (normal and hard diffs)
Maps before 2010, we could easily take many #1s on normal diffs with DTHRFL(because flows of maps are weird, and play a high acc with HRDT is not that easy). In hard diffs HDHRFL is enough, but if you are good at DT, i strongly recommend you play HDDTFL.
Representative players: too many
Suggestions: play none/HD with high acc → practise combinations of mods with high acc → add FL → practise spinners is necessary because many people are able to attack your 4modSS
Type VII: a 477-spinner (4mod easy/short normal)
This kind of #1s is easy to take and easy to lose. But don't worry, if you really have a 477-spinner you can take 50 #1s if you want ╮(╯_╰)╭

Suggestions: ...Spin!
Actually i don't know much about Type I ~ V so they are only for your reference. There are many other types and many other impressive players but they are less typical so i don't list them.

I'm confused why so many people (really many, but not many as people believe that i'm a boy) guess i'm a girl, i never said this before orz.
I dunno how to explain, let me tell you a story then.
Y (a GIRL, confirm'd) and M (gender unidentified, let's call it "he") are both FL players.
They are good friends too and they both pays few attention to pp affairs and social affairs of osu.
Y plays only easy and normal diffs and get more than 100 top ranks.
M plays all possible diffs he can deal with and get more than 100 top ranks too.
The MOST important, is that they are both clear-headed about theirselves and LAY THEIRSELVES LOW.

lol this position is partially individual indeed and i really have many friends standing by my side but every word i say above is true, and i really never saw people said anything negative to Y. And now you have already known my gender, don't you www
Oh i'm not complaining. In fact i think this is really interesting and i called this phenomenon as "sexual discrimination in osu" lol. In one word, WHATEVER A GIRL DOES, IT IS MOE; and a boy have to be on a high rank, or it is unlikely that many people like you. So be a girl is convenient in many ways, and i guess that's why so many people in osu claim that they are pretty girls (inspite of jilao). I will try to understand and respect what they say.
But i won't. I don't lie, especially in these most fundamental points... i don't want to live in lies either. Life is tiresome, but osu is a game. i don't want it makes me more tired.
