Saints Row The Third takes place years after the events of Saints Row 2.
With the Sons Of Samedi , The Ronin , and The Brotherhood dispersed . . . both Dane Vogel and Julius Little gone , The Third Street Saints have gone from a small time g.ang from the Row to a household brand name in Steelport. ( Complete with Third Street Saints branded clothes , courtesy of their own store known as Planet Saints , Energy Drinks , Bobble heads , and as well as a movie deal in the works. ) Furthermore , with Vogel gone , The Third Street Saints have partnered with their former nemesis Ultor and have branded themselves as the Saints / Ultor Media Group.
The Saints also find themselves new rivalry with a group known as the Syndicate. The group consisting of three g.angs known as : The Morningstar ( Founder Phillipe Loren ) , The Luchadores ( Founder Eddie "Ki.llbane Pryor ) ,
and The Deckers ( Founder Matt Miller ) . As well as dealing with STAG .

Five years after the events of Saints Row The Third , The Saints find themselves dealing with a new th.reat . . . . the Zin Empire . ( An alien race led by their Emperor Zinyak )
The Zin manage to invade Ear.th and their leader , Zinyak captures each member of The Third Street Saints . Placing them each in a simulation based on their personal fears .
Though with the Boss , and help from none other than Kinzie Kensington , each member was eventually freed from their simulations . . . . . only to be placed in a new one that was a carbon copy of Steelport .
Upon discovering they could be granted super powers in the simulation , The Saints decide to use this in a attempt to stop the Zin Empire .
