Teenagers dont have depression or anxiety. They have mood swings, get depressed sometimes, and get stressed. "Emo" teens make excuses and claim to have mental illnesses. literally every teenager goes through the same thing, without excuses

Now being a teenager means that you can't suffer depression or anxiety? You're really wrong. 1 in 5 teenagers suffer from depression during their adolescence. It's sad, but true. A lot of teenagers suffer from depression or/and anxiety. Why do you think a lot of teenagers kill themselves then? It's because they were depressed mostly. Every teenager goes through mood swings, but depression is serious, and depression doesn't choose an age; same happens with anxiety. And telling teenagers who suffer from that that they can't be depressed or have anxiety because they're teenagers will only make more teenagers hide those feelings and will only make everything worse.

Inspiration is not teenagers getting their feelings hurt and being "depressed". Inspiration is soldiers fighting to return to their families

Depression is a battle, not the same kind of the ones soldiers fight but still a battle. It's a really hard one that not everybody wins. For me, every single person who's battled depression and has overcome it is such an inspiration.

So by that logic, taking a shit is good music because it makes me feel good

Those band members haven't experienced hardship like they think they have. And the weak listen to their music. Being bullied and overcoming it isnt inspirational at all.

Overcoming self harm, addictions, suicidal thoughts, depression, being bullied, loss and other hard situations actually is inspirational. Because if you're going through any of those things, it can actually inspire you and give you hope

They play basic 3 chord progressions. My 6 year old sister could do that.

Music isn't about its complexity, it's about what it makes you feel

The bands dont save lives. They're in it for the money. Its the vulnerable people who's perspectives are changed by the lyrics, which the bands didnt write

They aren't in it for the money. The bands did write the lyrics, and some of them are personal, about their own lives. I can give you an example in the photo I'm posting, that quote was said by Benji Madden from Good Charlotte.

So how are the bands you listen to any different from the bands i just described? Im talking about PTV, BVB, BMTH and bands like that

Actually yeah I listen to those bands, and they're really different from mainstream bands. It's about the lyrics for me. "See, you're just wasted and thinking about the past again, darling, you'll be okay", "can't you see that we all fall down sometimes?", "we'd do anything to end what you're going through", songs like theirs can change someone's mind about certain things. Music won't make someone's problem disappear, but it's a way to cope with them. These bands save lives, they really do.

Emo bands are the same as mainstream pop bands

I don't think so. Give me examples of emo bands that you mean with that so I know more what you mean

I mean the bands that think they're better than mainstream pop and think they're in the same genre as ACDC, misfits, and green day but in reality are the same as One Direction, but with tattoos.

The emo music I listen to aren't like that. Actually the emo music I listen to are bands which music saves lives, which care more about helping others than about winning awards or selling records. They write from their experiences to help others, which is amazing.

Yeah, I listen to emo music. But what emo music exactly do you mean with 'that emo music'?

What do you do if you really like someone and want to get to know them, but don't know them too well, don't know if they're single and don't know if they'll even take you seriously?

Well, I'd start a normal conversation and if they seem interested I'd start asking about what they like doing and that stuff, and if they take the conversation seriously I'd ask more personal stuff like if they're single. I'm not really good at these kind of things anyway :/

My best friend keeps having these thoughts about cutting herself... I want to help her but i dont know what to do :( Any suggestions? <3

Do you know what makes her want to cut herself? Or why she cuts herself? That's the first thing you need to know so you can know how you can try to help her

Uh hey, how can you convince your parents on getting piercings because they think it makes me ugly but I'm just saying I will paying for it and I think its awesome

Hmm... it's not easy to convince your parents, but you can try to tell them that it's something that you like and tell them you're sure about it :) I think piercings are awesome too!

How to get friends? I have never had one so is it me..?

Getting friends is not always easy, I'm not really good at making friends, but you just gotta be yourself. Also if you share your passions and things you like with people maybe you'll find people who are like you and you'll be able to be friends with them :)

if you could name your pet after a band, what band would you name it after and what pet?

I'd name it Of Mice & Men, and it'd be a hamster
