The alchemy I was referring to was from the anime. in which you can turn anything into anything else of equal value. doesn't need to be metals. if something breaks, you can get all the parts and put it together, someone tries to attack you, run to a sign, grab the post, and turn it into a sword. sti

I know literally nothing about the anime but just in case you weren't aware, alchemy was a thing people actually studied at one time. Early practitioners (some as well-known as Isaac Newton) spent large portions of their lives trying to discover things like the philosopher's stone and the elixir of life through it. It was in a way a precursor to the development of chemistry and medicine as we know it today.
