what did surrendering your phone have to do with someone stealing your friends stuff

Has your phone ever been confiscated in secondary school by anyone before? If yes, how long was it confiscated for, and could you collect your phone back, or did your parents have to collect it from someone in school? Were there any other punishments given out?
ya twice. one was sec1 i think or sec2 someone stole/took my friend's valuables and everyone had to surrender their phone and could only get back the next day. the second time was when i was late for sch then they took my phone away
