Any advice on deciding between First PoV or Third PoV for a Mystery / Thriller. It is based around family.
To be honest, I'm having this issue with a mystery idea as well.
I think first person POV is good for getting inside the head of the narrator because it lets you see/understand what they're going through, so if the character is part of the mystery (i.e. they know all the secrets/they're the murderer) then I wouldn't use first person. That's just because it'd be harder to keep secrets and maintain the mystery aspect. BUT, if you can execute it well and know how to give it an amazing finish then go for it.
Personally, I think I'd go with third person POV because it makes it more suspenseful and increases tension but that's just me! 😊
