though about taekaistal photoshoot? :D
First thing first, I'd like to thank Min Hee Jin for making Kaistal in Pink Tape era happen and now this shoot for W Kore. I also love her aesthetic and taste in films she sources as inspiration.
So on to how I feel about the shoot: I love the concept a lot. I can see The Dreamers' all over this pictorial. The only problem I have is that it's really not executed well: the poses TaeKaiStal had to do in the shoot were redundant, the setting/backdrop of the shoot was done really well but they didn't utilise it at all and those three could have played off the dynamic of 3 lovers/best friends way better instead of stiffly looking into the camera with a slight scowl or piercing gaze. The video that went along with it completely threw me off - it contradicted with the whole shoot. Kai and Taemin looked like best friends who were vying for the attention of the same girl or if you look at it from another perspective, Taemin and Krystal are a couple and Kai was either in love with Krystal or Taemin or both and felt left out.
I honestly couldn't tell who Kai and Taemin were supposed to be (Theo or Matthew??) because the body language between Krystal and Kai and Krystal and Taemin wasn't all that different. I know that would make things a bit ~scandalous~ and stir even more hate for Soojung but if they were going to run with this concept, they should have gone through with it or have gone with something else entirely.
Overall, it was all very aesthetically pleasing and I am pleased to see my OT3 all together in one beautiful shoot. I just feel like WKorea had a really great idea, full of potential but wasted it in the end.
