What is the technique that you use for colouring your lines? I've always done it manually but then other artists do it differently so I was just wondering..

i usually use this button! so i can just paint over the lines
otherwise i just turn the lines to brown and set it on multiply

Should I quit all videogames and focus on art to become a good artist? I feel like I have no self-control

i used to spend most of my time playing games, but one school rolled around i started spending the majority of my time on art, it definitely helped!

i used some previous freelance work to cover the mark early! so i had no work term

This is kind of a weird question, but were you at Indiefest 2015 in Akihabara? I was there and happened to be wearing your Yoshi shirt and someone told me I had just missed the artist. Would have been cool to meet you in person! I did get to meet Swery65 and he dug the shirt!

I was!! I had only stopped by for around half an hour

i pretty much draw everyday, either for work or for fun

how does radarplz work? do you just apply it in the tags then hit submit? does it usually take awhile for it to show on radar? Sorry for the amount of questions just curious on that since iv been noticing it on artblogs & such.

yeah i've thought about it
but its a huge commitment and potentially a very long lasting project.. so not sure im ready for that kind of thing
maybe one day, and with platforms like patreon its possible to make a living doing so

I noticed you had created a character named Paprika and shown her on your blog, and the concept really stuck with me. I was wondering if I could include a character based on that concept in a book i'm writing/planning on having published, but I wouldn't want to do that if you weren't okay with it.

yes, its more natural, since its like youre actually holding a pen. you can also get line variety this way

how did you gain such a huge following on tumblr? -artist & fan

i started by just posting art consistently to the blog! once you have a solid body of work, people will find you.
fanart of my favourite things also helped to bring people in, since theres already a large audience.
but still the majority of my blog is OC, and my top post is OC as well
tumblr radar helped me a lot
cross posting your art on other social media can also help bring people in
anyway, dont focus too much on the number! just draw what you like and do your best, and people will be able to tell

What do you think of mechanical pencils vs regular pencils?

i dont draw traditionally that often, but i actually prefer mechanical pencils!
i know a lot of people like regular pencils because they can get better line variety,
but i think mechanical you can still get some variety, plus its also easier to erase i find
