When you tell your partner you’re done drinking alcohol but they prefer I drink it because I’m better to them. Wouldn’t you agree that’s toxic af?

I went through that precisely.
They like a person that is no longer exactly you. If you are quitting something, that should be supported.
That is a bad fork in the road. I stayed in the relationship and kept drinking because it kept her happy, but it backfired on me because I continued drinking consistently for another year and ultimately became so addicted that I was an actual alcoholic. The relationship ended, and I regretted never following my own inner voice. Her words won out at the time. You probably need a few weeks to be calmer and more peaceable naturally, but they wanted you as they wanted you. You should be able to be who you want to be. You do you; anything else would actually be toxic to your personality.
Best wishes.
Drinking is manipulation. Best not to drink in a relationship if you are serious or committed to your S.O. That is how date rape happens at bar. The drinks can be tampered with.
