I think ultimately what is important is getting your ideas across as completely and understandably as possible. The distinction the video makes between spoken and written word is very true, and I would like to add that body language -- which doesn't use words at all -- is a huge part of when we speak face-to-face with other people. It's your actions, your tone, and your emphasis as you speak that help convey a message -- sometimes in an easier fashion than writing it all out, even if it's not grammatically correct.
For example, my mom, having moved to the US when she was in her early twenties and never going through much formal English schooling, still can speak with hardly an accent (this has been confirmed by my friends, so not an entirely biased statement i promise xD) and is able to easily talk with native and non-native English speakers. But she still asks me to read over her texts and emails because she knows that this is where her lack of actual grammatical knowledge stands out, and can actually hinder other people's understanding of what she's trying to say.
So I think grammar matters more in writing, where words are literally all you have available, but even then, it depends on the TYPE of writing. For example, a lot of scientific papers use passive voice, which is something your creative writing teacher will probably lower your marks for. And creative writing itself will sometimes throw grammar out the window if the author is trying to make a particular point in a Very Aesthetic way.
tldr; in my opinion, grammar only matters to the point that it won't detract from how effectively you're communicating

i'm not super excited that they decided to parody one of my favorite childhood tv shows in a negative light, but the video does debunk the main myths surrounding what the average american might think about columbus, though i think many of us are also aware that he did not in fact discover america, etc. This video also painted him in the worst light possible (a quick scan of wikipedia articles on both him and the holiday can tell you this), and being subjective in the other direction is not that much better than glorifying him. So I think the real truth about columbus and his historical significance is somewhere in between, but yeah, definitely not worth celebrating with a holiday (many of our schools don't observe it anyway, much to the dismay of many students who wouldn't mind an extra monday off xD)

What quality in person is most attractive to you? People always say personality is what matters, but all I see is without a good looking face/body, people will not even brother to consider his/her personality. What do you think?

i think everyone makes snap judgments based on appearance, and sometimes it's hard to go beyond that. but to have any sort of meaningful relationship, you have to get along on a deeper level, so personality is the main aspect of any long-term attraction, platonic or otherwise, that i feel

seems like produce 101 has really started a trend eh (i know sixteen and a bunch of other shows that made idol groups came first, but i think the first season of produce 101 really defined the genre)

What can you say about this, "Slow and steady does NOT win the race"?

i would say "steady" is the main factor -- you can make fast but poor progress, but if you can achieve something quickly AND do it well, then you'll have a much better shot at winning a lot of the races you'll come across

i'm actually not -- i think his face is fine but not incredibly attractive, and he honestly plays annoying characters in both the dramas i've watched with him as part of the cast xD i watched city hunter because i was watching with someone else and they chose it, and i watched the heirs because of krystal, so it's more coincidence than anything

it's tough to sell big groups i think -- the only reason i bothered to learn all of soshi's faces was that i had actual motivation/investment in the group and wasn't just a casual bystander. but have faith that when loona finally debuts they'll start attracting some real attention, and then we can be the hipsters that say we knew them before they became cool :)

The ending was acceptable -- I guess the satisfaction of seeing Reaper and Sunny finally get together was sort of dampened by the fact that they're technically different people? I think one of the main points of the movie is what defines a person: if they don't remember who they were, are they really still the same person? Reaper reborn as Lee Hyuk, for example, is very self assured and suave, but are we convinced that it's still Reaper simply because he has the same face? (As do, conveniently, the other two who were reborn xD) But I guess they both had too much baggage in the previous life, so this was the only way "they" could ever be together.
I thought the Eun Tak / Goblin story line was going to go in a slightly different direction, with Goblin only coming back every first snowfall of the year, but I guess that would be too much angst after the 900 + years he already suffered. I always viewed him and Eun Tak as the cute given couple, so romance wise I was more invested in Reaper/Sunny.
But all in all, good drama, and I'd definitely recommend it!

she had a minor phase, mostly centered around 2PM. She listens to it occasionally still but more as background music or when her friends play it. But I'm just glad she takes all I do in the kpop fandom in stride and doesn't judge me for it XD

haha not surprised how it turned out, although some of their guesses were curiously specific (how does a Salvadorian specifically sound like??) anyway it's a nice reminder that we so often judge people just on their looks -- that's why the way you carry and present yourself is important in interviews, for example -- and while we might never be able to program ourselves completely otherwise, if we can make that snap judgement and then not hold ourselves to it, staying open to who the other person really is and what they have to offer, then we'll all be in a better place for sure

i actually do have some superficial knowledge about this topic; the End Slavery Now group my friend was in during high school held a conference that discussed conditions for these "fast fashion" workers -- essentially a form of modern slavery. There was even an app that actually assigns grades to all the big brands and companies based on how they treat their workers.

Okay keep in mind this is only from my experience and observations of a few others, but here's my two cents.
"graduate school", in the US at least, can mean either masters or PhD. Since money is always an important factor, let's get it out of the way first: for masters (1-2 year program), you'll usually have to fund yourself, while in a PhD program (5-6 years) your profs will generally pay you a stipend so you can at least live/eat/have some money on the side -- but neither option will give you much change to spare if supporting your family is a concern. So I would only recommend pursuing a PhD program if 1) you really really enjoy research and 2) can prove to your family that waiting five or so more years will pay off for everyone in the end (it should, but whether they can wait that long or not is the problem, i suppose). Also, I do know that depending on the country, a PhD may not earn significantly more than a masters, so just take note of that as well.
If you want to get a masters, a lot of employers (again, at least in the US) will pay for your degree once you've worked for them for a few years. So it's perfectly okay if you go get a job first, earn that dough, and then see if your boss will pay for you to go back to school. And then if you really like what you're doing for your masters, you can transfer to a PhD program after. This option takes more time initially, but it's still a perfectly acceptable way to achieve the same end result -- a ton of my classmates/peers now went to work for a few years after undergrad before becoming PhD students and I don't even notice that they're 3+ years older than I am.
tldr; Of course if it's your passion, I encourage you to pursue it! Even though sometimes real life gets in the way and you have to be practical, in this case there's most likely a way to still pursue your dream, even if it gets delayed by a few years :)

I'm not sure what your question is? Is it "when should people stop their endeavours"? In which case my answer would be, whenever they decide that the "bad" side of said endeavor begins to outweigh the "good" -- the tricky part is that it's different for everyone, and it might not be clear even to the individual

If the individual members of TWICE, Red Velvet, GFRIEND, Mamamoo, Blackpink, I.O.I (rip), Gugudan, PRISTIN, Lovelyz, and WSJN were all put together into a Produce 101 style show, in your mind, who would you like to see in the Top 11 to make the super group of all super groups?

Oh god. Okay I don't know all the Gugudan or Lovelyz members that well so I'm gonna skip out on those two groups to make it a bit easier for myself...
Okay first of all any group needs a swag rapper or two, so Moonbyul (MMM) and Jennie (BP) are a must. Jennie's also an amazing vocal, so add Solar (MMM) to sustain those high notes -- I guess she'd also be the leader -- and Sejeong (ioi/9x9) because she's just great at singing in general. Dancing we of course need Seulgi (RV) and Momo (TWICE) and I love Chungha (ioi) too so.
Oh geez I still need 4 more.
Uh okay in all honesty everyone knows Tzuyu (TWICE) so we need her face in there. And we need an English speaker who can also add her skills to this talent pool of talent pools, so Wendy (RV). And of course a large group like this of course needs some glue to stick them together and I think Jisoo (BP) and... um I guess Somi (ioi)? Since both of them seem to become friends with literally everyone they meet.
This was hard and I didn't even get to add my favorites from fried green mushrooms or the team of all of pledis's girl trainees ugh this is why produce 101 was both the best and worst thing to happen

what should someone do to keep one's mind at peace?

not to be flippant, but peter pan's "think happy thoughts"/distracting yourself (e.g. with kpop) can often do the trick until you're in a better mental place to start properly dealing with whatever's been troubling you (if it's more serious though, don't be afraid to try seeking professional help)

Thoughts on Goblin so far?

it's my favorite kdrama out of the 5-6 i've attempted, and i would actually recommend it to my friends, which is saying a lot

for any kpop group, weekly idol is usually pretty good. running man and "knowing bros"/"ask us anything" too! a lot of groups also have their own variety shows and that's always fun

bp is fluffy and i would very much like them to keep escaping from yg's dungeon to go on shows and have vlives so i can see more of their ot4-ness. i think jisoo is actually a pretty good representative of how their relationship works in general? like, she's the oldest, but also the most likely to goof around, but in that goofing around is taking care of her members somehow (as an unnie would). so every one of them is a balance of "let's work hard together" and "let's have fun together", i suppose? in either case, they must've known each other for so long at this point that "yg family" has a truer meaning for bp than just colleagues from the same company

i have an answer to pacify those who insist i need to have favorites, and then i have the real answer XD

Oh boy get ready because I literally live for the soshibond and what it represents for any group of humans:
Red Velvet has an interesting dynamic because of the age gap and the personalities that come along with each member; I mean, they tease irene and call her "grandma", so that's probably an accurate indication of how they view her, especially joy and yeri XD Still, I think there's a genuine and close relationship between each of the members; they're just a lot more quiet about it than a lot of other groups.
Oh god I hope Twice isn't over until it's over because I think their friendship is pure and good and wholesome and I will protect all of these children -- sure, i'll call them snsd v2.0, especially in terms of how much they care for each other and goof around like there's no tomorrow. It really did take me a while to get a handle on their dynamic, but once I did, there was no going back.
Mamamoo is probably one of the best put together groups I've seen in K-Pop because they all play off of each other so well: they're all equally crazy and doting and supportive, and that's only on camera, so I imagine behind-the-scenes is only that much sweeter. It's hard for even two people to understand and work with each other that well, so double that number and call me impressed.

yeah definitely...cons of making close friends before achieving True Adulthood because you will rarely end up in the same place ten years later. I don't know how people survived before the internet to be quite honest
