i cant speak for all. but for me, it's usually rooted in trauma or past experiences. pag nag open up or ask for help, but they will just feel rejected or dismissed. or kaya lumaki na sinasarili yung probs so they're not used to having anyone there to help. and i think what ppl don't realize is that di lang from past lovers to pwede mangyari but usually sa upbringing talaga and sa mga nakasanayan kaya di madali break yung old habits just bcs someone said they love the person yng lang skl haha

sa mga taong hindi natrato ng tama in their previous relationship or have a history it can feel really overwhelming for them that they resort on self destructing
