Being shy is mostly related to the environment that you live in. We do indeed live in a conservative society so being shy is absolutely fine. I was personally the same when I first left this place, I couldn't interact with people that I shared the same place with at all. But then you need to reflect and understand the reason why are you being shy at this moment. The people around you have a massive role in changing that within yourself. Being shy is neither a disease nor something that you should be shamed of(so no sad faces needed). It's a part of natural human being's characteristics that you can identify yourself with. However, everyone is should be welcomed to change the way they define themselves. Also maybe lack of confident might be a reason for that, you can try to work on this by again writing down your reflections. Find it normal to start conversations, speak up and share your opinions. After all, you can observe the change slowly according to the time because your thoughts and your ideas are unique as everyone else. All the best😄

Well, I can also say that I didn't mention anything that blamed you with judging, that was only a common opinion. But I agree, it was also kind of wired till you get used to the culture. It's kind of normal thing specially during the summer. It's fine if we walk with bare foot on the campus. Everything is almost so simple without anyone judging you. There is also nothing wrong about it, we care more about how thing makes us feel more comfortable rather than thinking what might others opinion be like. Does that mean that you know my Kik name as well?! #ifthat'swhatyouwantedtotell!!!!!!!!!!
