I think what YOYO should do is choose to cut certain large chunks of games. Nobody can legally accuse them of anything as they have their discretion to screen games. Furthermore, it would be a win win situation. No legal bullshit. No loss of games. No loss of true content.

The Great Duck
This is too much work. How do you judge it? Who do you appoint to do it?
Anyway, the Sandbox is old and broken. It wasn't going to stay up forever nor should it. YoYo are moving on and so should you.
Also, I'm not Nocturne. If you have issues with the GMC or YoYo, take it up with them. I'm not their representative.

Did you truly enjoy making the gmc comic? I don't mean "did you find them funny or like seeing others reactions". I mean, did you actually like the act of actually conceiving and drawing the comics?

Eh. By the end, not that much. Specifically, it was starting to become a chore because I didn't have any comics I REALLY wanted to make, I'd run out of ideas, etc. When I had comics I wanted to make (for instance, if there was an event on the forum I wanted to poke fun at, or something) it was fun enough. But I enjoyed the community interaction more than the actual drawing process, yeah.
As for the other question, I might make something in the future. But I don't have current plans.

Do you still make comics or did it die out? You should make more man. They were legitimately cool. Don't do it cause of people pushing you, but seriously... keep making them once in a while. They were quite funny. Also, long time no see. - Insert Name Here

All yoyogames is obligated to prevent is public access to games without the developers consent. Absolutely nowhere is there anything saying that someone can't hold on to them privately for 100 years until the copyrights expire. A private backup is better than absolutely no backup in my book.

Then make one? No one's stopping you.

I still think they ought to just quick-make a feature to mass download games. Then people would at least be able to easily make backups for their own personal use. Legal issues about public access can be dealt with later. At least let people preserve it (even if only in a private manner).

No. Those legal issues cannot be dealt with later. YoYo is a company which has legal obligations to uphold its TOS.

Plus, I'm sure yoyo can very easily do q blanket search and delete large swaths of click the clown games. With the search option I could easily remove a hundred or so in a few minutes. It's not that hard to dig through. They should at least port the featured games.

I feel it's less "we don't think there's anything here worth saving" and more "it's time to move on, collectively". I don't blame them for wanting a fresh start, even though it will suck to lose a bit of history.

I know yer not yoyos rep. I saw the discussion and thought I'd offer my two cents to you personally. You had some strong opinions and I felt like replying to them.

The Great Duck
I guess. :P

Well Phoenix GMC will never be tainted by my presence, so I think they'll all be happy anyway. I know you all want me to go away. I'm not stupid, y'know. I can they all talked about me behind my back when I was there. Farewell Stewart. Perhaps someday we will meet again.

Well I don't know rumors and hearsay. I guess I'll just end this random discussion and say that I don't think it's bad place to get game dev help when it's related to gaming. However, I seriously doubt anyone has made a fully editable game. If they did they need to rethink their design choice. (Jk)

That's what we call "backtracking", son :P
Also, "a fully editable game"? All games are fully editable.

I'm just saying that it's unlikely to be helpful to ask a game community a programming question that has nothing to do with established genres. It's just a likely fact that nobody will know about it. A few experts might but not likely the major community of people. Anyway, I have my eyes on a user.

The Great Duck
Yes - but by asking the community, you allow the experts to see your question! If asking the GMC for programming help wasn't useful, why are all the advanced programmers doing it? :)

Yeah but ninety it's arguably better to have one expert in the area you want to know about than to have a general moderate in the broader subject as a whole. Yer less likely to get help. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked if my use ends up getting the save bug removed, if only to promote paid upgrades.

Right - but that's still not a reason why the GMC is a BAD place to get help.
Also, you're overestimating how much the rest of the GMC cares about all this, again...
