Hello guys! My wife and I are planning on a hike and trek on Mount Etna next week. We both are very experienced walks. However, we only packed sneakers, so I'm a bit concerned about the current hiking condition on the mountain.

There is some snow on Etna, and you would require trekking boots. However you can join up to 1.900 meters but ascent to the top is not so easy in this part of the year. For extra details surf on http://www.funiviaetna.com

Godfather Tour? From where? Costs? Details and recommendations?

Several villages and buildings havebeen involved as film locations ... it depends how long you will spend in Sicily and in which part of the Island you will lodge.
What we usually recommend is visiting Savoca, a small village located in the Messina district and not too far away from Taormina. Here you can visit the Wedding Church (theone used for the film) as well as you can have a tasting of Lemon Granita (a sort of sorbet-ice cream) with a delicious brioche.
The easy way to explore the village --instead of walking up and down -- is hiring a tuc-tuc service which cost a few euros ... really nice experience.

Hi there, I and based in Australia and would like to inquire about the best way to move from Palermo to Taormina. We are a Group of four people.

There several ways to move from Palermo to Taormina. Let me start from the BEST to the worse.
AAA: the best is hiring one driver-escort in Palermo able to drive to Taormina providing two important stopovers: one in Agrigento to allow you to visit the Temples Valley. Then continuing to Piazza Armerina giving you the chance to visit the Roman Villa. End of the day-trip directly to Taormina.
Based on it, we do arrange two different solutions:
1) a hosted tour: every Wednesday http://www.around-sicily.com/sicily-tours/Regular-Excursions.pdf
2) a private tour: daily, http://www.around-sicily.com/scheda.asp?IdItem=175&IdTours=IT
BBB: you can also move using the train www.trenitalia.com
CCC: you can move using public bus with bus Exchange in Catania (Palermo/Catania then to Taormina)
DDD: hiring an Italian speaking driver for a traight transfer http://www.around-sicily.com/transfer_booking.asp
