When asking people for their thoughts on Sentai Mecha I find this big divide between them on whether they're better as toys or display pieces, with barely a middle ground to be found. Where do you feel you lie on this spectrum?
Display pieces? They're TOYS made for small Japanese children. I feel like anyone that is saying "They're great as display pieces!" are just trying to justify their purchase on something they think isn't a fun toy. I know I've done this every now and then. But like I said, Sentai Mech aren't collectors toys. They're not even toys for adults. While they don't have articulation that often, the FUN of a Sentai mecha is taking them apart, playing with the components, and putting it back together and playing with that. On the other hand, they do make nice display pieces. Some of the more...nonfunctional clusters look rather wondrous on display.I guess what I'm saying is that there certainly is a middle ground, and I'm more or less standing there. They look great on display, and they're incredibly fun to play with, so much that Sentai mech are easily my favorite Tokusatsu toys I generally purchase.
What are the odds of Figuarts releasing either Dukemon Crimson Mode, Susanomon, or Shoutmon x7 superior mode?
Doubtful. Like Bandai America and MMPR, Bandai Japan is focused on Digimon Adventure related stuff. We might see them at some point, but I expect to see more Adventure related releases than anything else.
Someone just subbed to me on one of your reviews (I think you may know which video it was). But I hope I didn't seem like advertising (all I said was Hold it HOLD IT ok now go). And now I don't remember what I was going to say. Anyway sorry if it seemed like it. I told him your vids are better.
Feel free. I don't mind at all, haha. It wasn't intentional!
How do you feel about the rumors of the next Kamen Rider series?
They are rumors. I don't "feel" anything. I'll start having legit thoughts when something is confirmed. No use on investing in what could be completely wrong.
Legit question here. How do I get the genesis core for the sengoku driver? I only just got into gaim and just bought a used sengoku driver. I have a few DX lockseeds, but I really want to hear that Mix function. Where do I get one shuki? Where did you get yours?
This thing right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCR85aAd_vk The one and only way of getting it, since that is where it belongs.Mr. S of CSToys has been able to find used Genesis Cores separately, but Genesis Drivers don't go for too much on the aftermarket, you're better off just getting the full thing to get full use out of your Energy Lockseeds.
Oy! Just got curious looking at all your playlists; of all the stuff you review what do you find yourself actually using & having fun with vs what you keep in storage?
Gimmicks and Mecha. Gimmick figures often get put away really fast. Weapons get put away really fast as well. Gimmicks have more staying power because I'm constantly getting new gimmicks to go in the belts and such, so there is always something new.Mecha is what I REALLY enjoy though. I'll constantly grab old mecha from my shelves and play with them for a few days before putting them back.
but if the cs Ryuki belt cards are toy sized, then how is the belt a 1:1 replica to the show if the cards are not 1:1?
From what I understand, there is a difference between 1:1 between cards and the belt. The cards in the show were larger (to better be shown on screen) compared to the ones used when interacting with the belt. The CS Belt is 1:1 to those that interacted with the belt, while the card Archives are 1:1 with the card props used independently in the show.
Rumors are continuing that the gimmick for next rider is buttons being put into the belt making some curtains fall or something and a coathanger for the weapon as bow and arrow .. If true,I really hope the main guy is like some poorly dressed and super manly guy to contrast against the motif haha
So whats your thoughts on how Drive has progressed outside of the universal answer of "Fuck Gou".
The shift between 1-25 and post 25 is kind of astonishing. They don't really feel like the same show anymore to tell you the truth. I don't necessarily mind, because i think it's changing for the better, but it was still surprising to watch.Though I can't say I'm a huge fan of how everything is going down. Tomari's dad suddenly being important was sudden, Gou's revelation was out of left field, and poor Chase went from "major plot" to "call me if you need me".While I enjoy it a lot more now, it's still a very odd show to watch.
