Watching any LPs right now?

I watch a ton of LPs, actually. Right now I'm marathoning Chip's MGS games inbetween the Megaman Legends LP, I'm keeping up with the Ride to Hell: Retribution by MenDrinkingCoffee, Voidburger's Oogie's Revenge thread, lazyfire's Arkham City, Psychadellic Eyeball's Spelunky, I fucking love the Fall of Cybertron LP going on, and I religiously check up on Bobbin's Brutal Legend thread every monday. I lurk most threads though, especially the Brutal Legend one since I'm not a HUGE metal fan.

Have you ever played System Shock? Either one.

No, but I really really want to. They look like really interesting FPS RPGs, and I love the studio. They produced the Thief games too, and Thief is one of my favorite series ever. I think I may have gotten System Shock 2 on GoG but never downloaded it? I don't remember.

What was the last movie you watched that was really good?

The Hobbit, I think? Much like the books, I actually liked the Hobbit movie more than LotR.

Is Bioshock the only game you plan on doing a self-induced challenge in?

At the moment, yeah. I don't know any other games that I could do with a challenge. The only reason I did the Bioshock one is because wrench-only is how I play Bioshock anymore. I typically don't run through a Zelda game only getting three hearts, or actively avoid powerups in a Mario game. I might think of doing something like that EVENTUALLY, but for right now I've got Going Commando on the way next week, All 4 One going on now, Into the Nexus as soon as the three months are up, and then at least one other game as a break from Ratchet and Clank games again. Maybe once I'm down to JUST Into the Nexus I'll think of another challenge I could possibly do, but for right now I'm content to let the Challenge Thread roll on without me.

Oh, and on the subject of Bioshock and story DLC, did you ever play Minerva's Den? I actually thought the story for that was pretty good. (definitely an improvement on the main game's story but that's not saying much bioshock 2's story really was quite shit)

I never played Minerva's Den. I didn't even know it existed until Brainamp started an LP of it. I dunno if he ever finished it or not, but it certainly got my interest going. I don't know if I would ever play it myself though, even if Bioshock 2's gameplay was really good.

With the LP almost over, what would you say your opinion on the rest of the Bioshock series is? I know it's unlikely, but is perhaps a Drill-Only Run of Bioshock 2 a possible idea (though I've never even heard of the concept)?

I really don't like 2's story that much. Gameplay wise it was a huge step forward, but honestly, the story feels like it was a hastily written fanfiction and it hurts my enjoyment of the game a LOT. I played it once and got the good ending, and I think that was enough for me. However, it had a ton of cool setpieces, and I never got tired of walking around on the ocean floor to find slugs who ate magic in order to fuel my psychic bee powers.
However, I really do LOVE Infinite. I don't care that the ending doesn't really make any sense, and I really did like the combat despite the criticism it got. It was pretty much what I was asking for since 2, playing in a city where everything is fine, nothing is broken, and slowly see it devolve into a hell before your eyes. The fact that the entire game is an escort mission where your escort actually helped you, couldn't die, and didn't get in your way helped a lot too. I wanna play Burial At Sea but I can't really afford it now.
Don't expect another challenge LP from me anytime soon, especially of a Bioshock game. I'm not exactly the greatest at first person shooters to begin with, and Infinite was hard enough for me without imposing an artificial restriction on myself. If I do another challenge, it won't be for a while and it'll likely be some sort of low-health run of a Zelda game or something. Maybe I'll Chocolate Secret New Super Mario Bros U. I dunno I have too many games I wanna do already without yet another side project to dump onto the pile.

you realize that coordinating a bunch of goons for multiplayer will be a screaming nightmare. Did you learn nothing from all 4 one

But this is GOOD multiplayer.

can you dance if you want to, can you leave your friends behind

My friends don't dance, and since they don't dance, well they're no friends of mine.

There is an AC/DC pinball machine where I work and the urge to play it while working is huge.

If you send it to me I can take that urge off your hands.
