I'm not gay but I honestly think I love my best friend. He's so gentle and everything that he does is adorable nd I was curious so I kissed him the other day. He tried to push me away but I didn't stop and he started crying. Idk what to do anymore.. we havent talked since then. What if he hates me?
If he hates you, then he's certainly not in love with you, nor you with him – not really. I'd like to believe that love exists to be reciprocated than go unrequited, but communication is key. Give him a while and talk to him again. Keep your distance should he let you know he still needs it.
The goal should be for both sides to feel safe in a friendship and the best you can do is let him know how you feel in whatever manner he's comfortable with. Know that neither of you should feel obligated to share the same feelings. Maybe the two of you can meet somewhere in the middle, or maybe you won't. At the worst, you'll know where he stands and you'll find someone who does.
And I've come to find that sexuality's a rather complicated matter. I'm liable to think that orientation should be anything as linear as what we've come to believe it is. Many of us are as "gay," "straight," "bi," or "pan" as it suits our daily purposes and dinner conversation, of course. But I'd doubt there's nothing inside us leaning different ways, if only leaning.
