I am really disappointed in the yoyoing community. It feels like everyone is just trying to get noticed and treat it like a game. Contest can only change so much. These younger kids seriously need to chill on the amount they talk and post on instagram and focus more on yoyoing. Your thoughts?
I've heard people say this at least once a month for 20 years. Remarkably, nothing has changed and every thing is still actively getting better and better all the time. I wouldn't worry about it...in any community you will find the same people. Some who do it for love, some who do it for money. Some who want the glory and recognition, some who just need external validation. Some consider it a calling, some consider it a career. Enjoy return tops for exactly what they mean to you, and don't worry about what they mean to anyone else...that's their problem. -Steve
so the blizzard looks incredible and it got me thinking what existing designs of clyw would be awesome to have in a bimetal version, the sasquatch or chief would be my pick. if you guys could choose a design to experiment with as a bimetal what would you pick?
Not super interested in just making bi-metal versions of existing designs...except for one that we're already fiddling with. ;) -Steve
You know how Ernest has the weekly grind video series? I was wondering if we could get something like that from Chris and Steve. like a weekly video series where you talk about clyw and clyw related updated or previews. or do a weekly return top highlight.
It would have to be only 1 minute long, because I think that's literally all we have time for, ha ha. -Steve
Hey Chris,
Is your team ever going to get to big, or are you just going to add more players. Would you rather add a younger player(young teen) or a older adult player to your team?
We don't have any preference on age. We try to keep the team manageable. Some members of the team are more active and ask for more stuff, while other members of the team are less active but don't ask for anything. So right now, it's balanced fairly well. Always wish we could do more for our team, though! -Steve
Hey Devin! Sorry about that! It was a great interview and my first podcast that I was a guest on. I honestly just want to keep my social media stuff and yoyo stuff a little separate. Plus that amount quoted in the title that we make annual is incorrect. We don't make that much and I feel like it makes us look like we are bragging or something when that isn't the case. It just makes me feel weird talking about money as most of it goes towards manufacturing, back into the company/team, and sponsoring contests. Doing CLYW has never been about making big bucks for me, it's been about supporting the community.I just didn't want it up there if that's okay. Again my apologies for taking it down. Thanks so much for showing the initiative to post it though :) -Chris
