umm
Because white people want an excuse to be uneducated and drink and eat tacos.
It’s celebrating Latin Americans I think
I know that it had to do with the Mexican, the French, and a battle.
Military victory over French
Because the Mexican army won the war against the French empire battle. I’m Half Mexican
So I think it’s about a battle or something.
Yes, of course. Although most people, especially in the USA, think it's Mexico's
Independence Day, this couldn't be further from the truth. It's celebrated in Mexico as a battle of Puebla where the Mexican Army defeated the French who attempted to "colonize" Mexico. California started the trend to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Needless to point out, it became another day to celebrate and get drunk.
As they say: ¡Viva México, cabrones!...????
Yeah of course
