A lot of the time, journalists also focus on stereotypes in the MP community. Trust me, I hate the jerks too, but even in popular communities, the good guys and gals out there don't get spotlighted nearly enough. We don't really reward good behavior in the community nearly as much as punish the bad.

I agree that good stuff in a community should be encouraged, not just in online gaming but in any online community. That's more effective than simply punishing asshats. Show people what a community could be and most of them will strive to help make that happen

I agree that if it's just hardcore fanboys, that's one thing, but especially in some cases, the amount of time spent with MP by comparison to SP is staggering. I understand review timelines can cause reviewers to need to cram it in last minute, but a lot of sites treat MP as an after thought/bonus.

Yeah I think the best solution would be to have a multiplayer focused journalist at each site. Because like you said, finding time to take a deep dive into that aspect would probably be impossible with current deadlines

Examples: Jim Sterling dropped the MP in Arkham Origins after a few brief matches and declaring he didn't like it. The game is still active and has a loyal MP community. Adam Sessler frequently covered games with MP for Rev3, and talked about said aspects despite not really getting why people played

Very interesting! If they normally don't enjoy any multiplayer they play then yes, I think they should have journalists who cover multiplayer components specifically. However, if they just don't like the same multiplayer games as hardcore fanboys do, then that is another issue. It's like how most of us agree that Destiny is garbage, but there are still TONS of people playing it every day. Does that mean it isn't garbage and shouldn't be discussed as such in a journalistic article?

Why do you think so many game journalists have a hard time with multiplayer gaming? Should there be a greater effort to get players good at MP gaming into the conversation, as it becomes a bigger part of gaming culture?

I didn't know this was a problem honestly! Can you give me examples?

I find you very irritating. You're not as clever or smart as you think you are, and your hairstyle sucks.

Say it to my face you pussy ass bitch :-) But I know you won't cuz you're a piece of garbage. :-)
