Could? Yeah, I think they could. Will they? Now that's another story. You'll have to find a way to turn their speed against them using misdirection and trickery to beat them.
What do you think of baldwyn's secondary duke Upshaw, Martel brown, Nathan Watson ,and matthew gates?
Quite possibly one of the best secondaries not only in 2A but anywhere in the north. Duke is a rising star in football and he still has basketball too. Martel has tremendous athleticism. That's a dangerous duo back there
Man did the V-Men step up in a hostile environment. And trust me, I know that Kemper County field and stadium are tough to play on. North showed out and now they have to do it again at home against Charleston.
I had Coffeeville and Stringer before the playoffs started but now I literally have zero idea!
Toughest player in 1a
Jeramie Lawrence is one tough dude. He'd be right up there for me but I really like Tyler Hood from Smithville. That guy will run through a wall to win a game.
Absolutely. I think Saltillo showed they can compete with anyone in 5A. That Callaway team had FOUR Ole Miss commits and yet the Tigers hung right with them.
Gonna come down to Lafayette's offense vs. Noxubee's defense. Said the same about Ripley's offense and Ripley couldn't move the ball on Noxubee. If the Dores can, which is a lot to say, they'll have a great shot to win.
Difference between Donta Armstrong and Chakel Gates?
I think Donta is a little bit quicker and has a better arm but Chakel is more elusive and accurate. They're very similar quarterbacks.
Will Lafayette and Noxubee play against eachother now since they both won?!?
Yes they will. Noxubee County will go to Lafayette. Silly MHSAA rules gives the 3-seed the home game since Noxubee has hosted twice and the Dores have only had one home playoff game. That'll be a fun one to see if DK Buford and Co. can run against that Tiger defense!
is this week in 2A going to be tough? what two teams do you think will play for the North Half Championship?
Oh you bet. Calhoun City has West Bolivar at home and Eupora goes to Baldwyn. I like City over Rosedale with the way the Wildcats have been playing but the Eupora/Baldwyn game is a toss-up right now.
What about that eupora game last night
Trey and Corson are becoming quite the QB-WR combo and Lamontae Salley has been outstanding on the ground as of late. That was a great road win against an up and coming team in East Union.
Gonna be tough. SBS runs a similar offense to Shaw where they use their speed and athleticism to beat you on the ground attack. If Smithville can be physical at the point of attack, they can get the road win against a top opponent.
Man is that gonna be a good one. Both teams have phenomenal balanced offenses and the defenses keep getting better and better. I feel for Eupora having to play two games on the road so far from home but the Eagles are one of the few teams left that can win two straight road games like that.
Absolutely. I thought Coffeeville was a sure fire pick to make it to Jackson but now that the Pirates are out, it's anybody's best guess and the Noles are right in that mix.
Phenomenal win. Tyler and Drew were outstanding. Noles showed they can hang with an athletic team from the Delta. They'll have to do it again next Friday at Shelby Broad Street.
Was somewhat surprised how Bruce struggled down the stretch but Baldwyn is beginning to get healthy at the right time and really starting to turn it on. Their run/pass balance on offense plus their tough D is going to make the Bearcats a team to watch out for going to Jackson now.
