Jason, for your Figure 8 trick, is that when the yoyo doubles on the string in the 1.5 mount before you curl in or fingers or is it when you curl your fingers in immediately after you hit the 1.5 mount?

Jason: 'depends how you want it to look.... actually curl right before left AFTER, it actually looks like you are drawing 2 figure 8s with your fingers'

I am really getting into yoyoing and have learned a decent amount of 1A tricks do not know how i compare with others just know i am no were near pro the best yoyo i have used is a maveric from yomega and really have not tried many does it make a huge diferance using a nicer yoyo like the shutter

dont compare to others. use yourself as your only measure and just work on getting better.
A shutter is a HUGE step up.

I'm trying to explain gold konk bearings to my non-yoyoer friend. Would Nascar Pistons be a similar example? (pistons that last a very short time, but run amazingly when they do)

yeah, anything so precise that it can be upset. a whole F1 race car.

I'm not really good at yoyoing yet, but I can do the sleeper and some basic tricks, my only problem is balancing the yoyo. Is there any good advice to keep the yoyo in good balance? I can;t practice my tricks. and I also know how to bind unresponsive yoyos, but sometimes my bind wont work, am I doi

If I machined and polished out a full sized yoyo out of hardwood (or some other very light material), then put huge weight rings at either end to counteract the wood's light weight, would it be more stable than a yoyo out of a consistantly weighted material?

When should I lubricate my yoyo? I mean, how should I know that my bearing needs lubrication so that I can maintain it's good condition? I;m using a Long spin yoyofatory oil btw and yoyofactory yoyos such as dv888 with a dif-e konkave bearing, whip and one with center trac bearings (yoyofactory) a V

Lots of people play their bearing dry. This offers lowest response but does promote bearing failure. When and how much to lube is a personal choice, me personally I lube after cleaning and that's it. Some people lube when they can hear their bearing which keeps the bearing semi responsive.
